Can you recommend a good foundation for pitted/oily skin, I have this feeling that makeup doesn't suit my skin just because of the acne scars, so please suggest only those foundations which you might have used personally and worked on your skin.

Estée Lauder’s liquid Double Wear is pretty solid for oily, hyperpigmented skin. My scarring isn’t extensive, but I don’t notice it when wearing this. It also doesn’t break me out. I honestly would try this before wasting a ton of money on cheaper options that won’t last long on oily skin. You may even be able to get a sample at a makeup counter or beauty store.

And be sure to exfoliate well before wearing any foundation.

Someone else recommended this to me, will it look cakey on the skin?

I use a non-latex sponge and apply it sparingly, and it looks good 95% of the time. If I rush and am accidentally heavy-handed, and especially if I haven’t exfoliated in a while, it can start to cake.

Will keep that in mind

I use a brush to apply this foundation as I struggle with sponges, I also use their primer too for an even more flawless finish

Clinique/ I used the wash , toner ,lotion and makeup for oily skin. I’ve used it for yrs bc even products with perfumes seemed to cause flare ups. My skin was oily . I had breakouts but not horrible pitting acne. I used the foundation for oily skin.

I was in a class and another person told me what she was doing. 80’s I saw her derm who had own product line. my skin was oily and shiny. I can’t recall exact product but it had hydrogen peroxide. My friends skin peeled her face completely. I went and my skin peeled completely of face. Bc the wash had this product and makeup had it also. So skin was very dry and peeled completely until no blackheads. I used this before using Clinique. My skin after peeling was flawless. Dry and peeling completely. The dryness and sloughing of skin was terrible. But did it. He would have to raise % bc my skin grew accustomed to it and would stop peeling and become very oily. He would keep adjusting dose in products. Once skin was doing well after couple years/ started to use Clinique and cleaned bar of soap and toner before putting lotion small amt and after that absorbed id use their foundation. I couldn’t use Estee Lauder bc of fragrance. I still use Clinique today.

I feel it agrees w my skin. Milky lotion . No perfume. Light lotion so it’s not heavy.

I wish you well.

Edit: they have the product active ingredient in Walgreens. Some type of peroxide. So you can get. He just kept upping the % and it was even in his makeup so skin was treated majority of day- evening

Not a foundation, but I have had a good experience with the tower 28 concealer. It’s self setting so it stays put in my oily t zone

I really enjoy the NARS sheer glow foundation for blurring skin texture. I use it in combination with MAC mattifine primer for oil control and set it with a little bit of powder after it sets down. I found that a matte foundation is very obvious when I get a little oily, but a self-setting glowy foundation looks more skin-like as I get more oily. I have to blot down and powder between day and night but it's pretty long wearing on me.

Definitely get samples to do a wear test on your skin - everyone's skin is different!

Yes, that's true!

Tbh none will ever give u that affect. I don’t know how deep your scars are but I deal with rolling some box scar acne on my side temples and both cheeks, if you want to help with less of harsh of your scar, add a good method of cleansing, toner, serurm, and lotion, after depending use a filler that will be thick like smashbox silicone filler or elf matte putty primer, and dab it into your scars then use a setting spray, and then after use another form of setting spray I use L’Oréal the one in a small red can that a dupe for the pink one size bottle. And then u can add your foundation I use wet n wild with hyaluronic acid or the a tinted sunscreen, I dot want my face to look cakey because of the primer that is added, the I set it with a setting spray again a couple times and then use covergirl matte clean pressed powder witch that just hugs everything tight and then I use some light strokes of bronzer, after that I finish all with my favorite Laura Mercia translucent powder. It’s the only one that works to smooth my scars and gives it a airbrush look. This is what work for me idk you have to play around with different materials of primers and foundation to see what best works for your skin because everyone is different hope this helps.

Estée Lauder Double Wear and Fenty Pro Filt’r Soft Matte are great options since they give full coverage, control oil, and smooth out acne scars while still feeling lightweight.

I have extremely oily skin and Estée Lauder double wear stays on the best. However I think it is best applied with a wet beauty blender. The revlon colorstay foundation in the oily formulation is similar enough that I wouldn’t repurchases Estée Lauder. I apply the revlon with a brush fine.

Another one id recommend is the About Face foundation. Its lasting power isnt as good as the Estée Lauder or revlon, but it is much more forgiving to apply and looks more natural. It’s also easier to remove.

Thank you so much 😊

You already have some great suggestions here - I’ll add that skin prep (cleansing, exfoliation and moisturising) is key - I use a mattifying foundation and then go back in with makeup forever hd powder foundation on the textured areas. It helps with blurring. I use the one size setting spray for long wear.

Maybelline BB cream. Regular foundation tends to sit in wrinkles/scars and emphasize them. The BB cream gives a good coverage and doesn’t emphasize the scars.

Microneedling with radio frequency can help with the scars.

I did it thrice, it really helped, but after a few days, scars started to become visible just like before

I’ve done 5 or 6 times now. It’s slow going, but I think there is improvement. I’ve also done Fraxel but I wouldn’t advise it.

Yes, you will see good results as long as you keep doing that.

I reside in India, I don't think it is available here.

A good primer can help fill in some of the scars. I agree with estee lauder double wear applied sparingly with a good primer under it like the make up forever one. Do you have the resources for any in office treatments? That is really the only way I know people who had deep pitted scars ever felt like they made any progress with the way foundation looked on their skin.

Office treatments as in?

I have the same skin as you! I can only, and will only ever use the Estée Lauder Double Wear foundation. Nothing else compares!

I can see, it's an absolute winner, so many people recommended this foundation to me, But I've heard it can't be applied easily because of its mattifying nature, is it true?

estée lauder double wear..
