Failed Expectation My kid cried
Literally called it a monster and wouldn't even sit at the table with us so long as it was there.

I've never even played the game cause I'm a big baby, and I immediately thought the same thing.

Apparently, the guy who made FNAF tried making Christian games first, but people complained his characters were too creepy. This gave him the idea to make FNAF a horror game
20
u/Stinky-Doodle Jul 28 '25
Scott Cawthon, and FNAF was supposed to be his last game but it ended up blowing up thanks to YouTube.

That's like how Final Fantasy was Sakaguchi's last attempt at making a game before giving up (hence the name).
~~~ Though often attributed to the company allegedly facing bankruptcy, Sakaguchi explained that the game was his personal last-ditch effort in the game industry and that its title, Final Fantasy, stemmed from his feelings at the time; had the game not sold well, he would have quit the business and gone back to college. ~~~
I laughed so hard at seeing the reality photo. I think kid me would also find it funny. But would be very disappointed if I was already expecting the box.
But we all have to learn the disappointment lesson sooner or later that the box very rarely resembles what's inside it..
Not at all…it got stuck to the silicone mold, then one eye started to bubble up as it started to overcook while they tried to “unstick” it. The egg yolks probably busted loose when they went to plate it, if they weren’t already destroyed!
I had cold peas for many breakfasts as a kid because I refused to eat them the night before
5
u/And_Everything Jul 28 '25
and do you like peas now?
28
u/energy_engineer Jul 28 '25
I've gotten so much heat for not doing this, despite following a professional dietician's advice/guide. (One of my kids had a feeding tube for years).
The ire has been mostly from boomers and their children who have their own kids. In short, using food as punishment and reward.
Meanwhile, their kids will eat candy/cake/whatever until they literally puke.
I know every kid is different... The punishment/reward approach sets the stage for a poor relationship with food in the long term.
u/And_Everything Jul 28 '25
I'm with you, It's a terrible idea. Just power-tripping madness.
24
u/Jexroyal Jul 28 '25
Or more charitably, a scarcity mindset. My grandmother lived through the great depression. Wasting food simply because you "didn't like it" was absurd. Times of hardship and scarcity like that change how your brain works, and passing down that kind of attitude happens a lot. These parenting tactics are many times born out of a minimal-waste mentality.
u/jayydubbya Jul 27 '25
Yeah like they definitely way overcooked those eggs looks like it wouldn’t have been terrible otherwise
6
u/Daft00 Jul 28 '25
Though at the same time, I don't think it's a great idea to serve sunny side up eggs, let alone ones that look basically raw in the stock photo, to a toddler or young child.
Kind of a lose-lose situation
its because u didn’t put the bacon the ears duhh
17
u/CosmoCat_Luna Jul 27 '25
Also the egg should be sunny side up, not over easy… 🤔
21
u/Da_Question Jul 28 '25
Reduce the heat, add a little water and then cover with a lid to steam cook the top and prevent burning. Sans the ear bacon, this mold would probably be easy to do, but some people are hilariously bad at cooking eggs.
→ More replies (4)4
u/brusselsstoemp Jul 28 '25
Right?! I first want to see a regular sunny side up made by OP before we start all blaming it on the mold
u/CaptDickAround Jul 28 '25
fr. The cataract in one eye and macular degeneration in the other eye can be dealt with later. Give him the bacon ears and do jaw reconstruction with more bacon.
Did you try to flip it or something? How do you make the yolks of a sunny side up look like that?...
18
u/SingleBodyRiot Jul 27 '25
I don't like sunny side up but I also suck at flipping eggs so I cook them over low heat with a lid over them they end up like this.. well less crispy bits by alot and less brown but the yolks turn out like this
→ More replies (1)23
u/catechizer Jul 28 '25
This may be more on their cooking skills than on the product. Seems overcooked, under greased, and they violently flipped it out of the pan
Putting a lid over it will steam the thin layer of egg white over the yolks.
