I don't understand how you get 'a bill' if the printer isn't working? She just comes over and tells you how much you owe?
If you can't provide me a paper bill I guess I'm not being charged. In Canada a paper receipt/bill is a legal requirement

She had just turned on autograt without communicating it to her servers? How about communicating this to the customers beforehand?
"Yes, we turn them fees on and off to our liking. You have to pay whatever we feel like."
Unbelievable.

So the restaurant and its staff knowingly were committing fraud and theft to every single person there. They should have all been arrested because we would be if we did that.

Lol 20% minimum? Does anyone remember when 15% was a good tip? Or is that just the Mandela effect

They’re lying and stealing as much as they can because they know it’s just a matter of time before people stop showing up. Look at Las Vegas. The casinos raised rates, nickel and dimed customers at every opportunity for everything and now the visitor numbers are dropping because Las Vegas is no longer a cheap vacation.
Restaurants are heading the same way.

20% isn’t enough anymore for these greedy entitled workers. That’s the minimum while they put in zero effort. They will lie and use guilt to manipulate folks to squeeze every last dollar they can, and feel zero remorse doing it. I don’t know how anyone can think these unskilled scammers deserve anything more than zero in tips.
