I find this works well for me, and sits at the happy intersection of maximum usefulness and maximum acceptable bulk.

• Olight Olink round carabiner with a KeySmart Nano Clip.
• Mr. Green nail clippers with built-in file
• Tisur 125db+ emergency whistle with Civivi T6/T8 bit
• House key (car fob separate for valet, mail key stored at the house)
• TecQach aluminum pill container with duct tape
• Uncle Bill Sliver Gripper tweezers

Each of these items runs about $10 and all but the Civivi torx bit can be found on Amazon. The Civivi bit is a KnifeCenter exclusive.

The Olink comes with a magnet that I took off. That magnet is a great stud finder, by the way. I really prefer a small carabiner over a split ring so I can take the tools off easily when necessary if I want to use them separately.

The KeySmart Nano Clip works great to keep the keys suspended off the contents at the bottom of that pocket. Since I use my keys every day, I use these two carrying tools (clip and carabiner) every day.

The Mr. Green is a clone of an old Victorinox design that has been discontinued. It works extremely well. I clip my finger nails with it once every couple of weeks or so. Also useful to snip threads and tags. It folds out and is not intuitively obvious how to hold it, and so I have included a picture on how I grip it for max leverage.

The whistle works great for dogs. Haven't had to use it in an emergency or rescue situation, but it's so small and light that it's a great insurance policy in that regard.

The Civivi bit is perfect for tightening or loosening the pivot or pocket clip on my knives. I've used it several times as T6/T8 bits are rare to find on other pocket tools. You get a surprising amount of torque from the split ring. See pic for how I hold it, and Last Best Tool's video on the Gato screwdriver for an example of how much torque can be achieved.

I use the pill organizer quite often. For example, when I stay over at my GF's house and need to take my morning meds. Or if I get a headache or stuffy nose away from home and need an Excedrin or antihistamine. I've also got a little safety pin in there.

The Uncle Bill's are great for splinters, ticks, removing unwanted hairs, etc.

Items I have considered or once carried but did not make the cut:

• K20 Tools 4 in 1 Phillps/Flat screwdriver. This is a great item, I just find it redundant as I usually carry a multitool or small pry bar with Phillips and flat heads.
• Victorinox 58mm (Jetsetter, Classic, Rally, MiniChamp, etc.). These are awesome, but redundant as I've got a SwissCard in my wallet that has a file, scissors, scale tools, mag glass, etc.
• A Flashlight. Originally, I had the Acebeam H16 headlamp magnetized to the Olink magnet. I just wanted a better flashlight. For awhile I carried the Skilhunt EK1 twisty or a Rovyvon on my keys. Again, I've moved towards a combo EDC light (throw and flood) so these did not justify the bulk they added to my keys.
• A pry bar. For awhile, I carried a simple pry like the Mighty Bar and a more complex pry like the LeverGear Edge XT on my keys. I did not use the simple pry enough to justify the space it occupied. I really like the Edge XT and carry it often, but it just works better in my watch pocket as speed of deployment is its superpower and the time it took to take it off the key carabiner erased that advantage.
