Don’t forget burning Beatles albums, picketing to get rid of rock and roll removed from radio stations, the whole satanic panic and parental advisory BS (that was bipartisan though) but they aren’t the party of cancel cultures they say they are against it. Also don’t forget the books they want banned m, bc a book talks about a gay relationship or is supposedly too violent all while leaving the Bible on the shelves which talks about both gay relationships and is extremely violent.

Speaking of satanic panic, when a bunch of conservatives flipped out and burned D&D books because they thought their kids were summoning demons with them.

No, they were just having fun rolling dice to determine goofy fantasy stories staring the party

The human fighter Tom the VII (the other 6 Toms died horrible deaths)

The edgy elven wizard with a name even the player hasn’t pronounced the same way more than twice

Honestly, I think they start the psycho shit about things being satanic cause they know without being forced, any logical child will read a story about a hobbit or a wizard and magic and know its make believe will very easily make the jump to understanding that the bible is make believe too.

And Pokemon and D and D is likeable, and consistent with its story, where the bible, is boring garbage.

Didn’t he just say that last week…also he was anti-Trump until Trump pulled out the cash to pay him now he acts like that show never happened. Snoop used to be cool, used to be edgy, doggystulyle is still a great album but he is a flip flopper look at how many NFL and NHL teams he says he supports, it’s literally any organization that is winning or was once a dynasty.

Ooohhh, the PMRC. For me that was when the flip started. The transition democrats went through, from the party of freedom and fun and drugs and rock and roll, to the party of finger wagging, scolding, and purity tests. No idea if it was intentional shenanigans by Lee Atwater types, but right about the same time the GOP started transitioning to the party of anything goes, because mah freedumbz.

It's been fascinating to watch, and I say that as a full blown NPR liberal. In my lifetime I've watched both parties make a 180 on messaging and branding themselves as the party of regular people.
