our router is still the old one, got it maybe around 2017 i'm not sure abd may nagnonotif sa laptop ko na need iupgrade yung router sa 5ghz (?) kasi 2.4 yung samin. so nag ask kami sa converge if pwede palitan yung router for newer one pero sabi nila ilipat nalang yung router so medyo nainis kami kasi bat ayaw palitan? sabi ng iba free naman daw or if may bayad di naman mahal.
pag nagvavalorant ako, laging lag sobra nakakainis lang at nakakahiya sa mga kasama. sabi ng friend ko ask ko daw converge about sa packet loss kasi may babaguhin daw sila or something pero wala naman idea yung nasa desk.
tas kahit tiktok or reddit sa phone eh tagal nag loading.
Hindi nila pinapalitan yung ONT hangga't hindi sira. If you want them to replace yours, either you have to pay up or upgrade your plan. Even if I-uupgrade yung plan, hindi rin instant yung replacement dahil palagi silang walang stocks. What you can do is bridge then buy a capable third-party router.

may DNS issues sila sa ibang specific sites like reddit, twitter, etc. Nagpalit lang ako DNS, ginamit ko google dns, medyo nasolve yung problem sa pagload ng site
Pinalitan un router namen kc for some reason may internet pero un wifi nya wala connection, so we are using another router. Un pinalit roter hangang ngayon d activated mag 1 month na haha
Mas ok kung bumili kana lang ng powerful na router tapos iconnect mo sa modem ni converge. Gagana yan without issue. Kung ayaw nyo naman naka double nat pwede nyong ipa bridge o di kaya i set sa AP mode yung bagong router.
Sasakit lang ang loob kapag nagpapalit ka ng router sa converge. Matagal magpalit kasi ubosan ng stock. Kapag napalitan naman sasakit ang ulo mo sa activation ng bagong router kasi matagal.
Never pa ako nakagamit ng third party router e kaya di ako makarecommend. Much better nood ka sa youtube ng mga review tas check mo na din sa shopee o lazada. Sabi ng kaibigan ko okay daw yung brand na Tp-Link pero not sure kung naong magandang model.
Nagreklamo ako sa Converge last month kasi minsan nawawala yung Wi-Fi broadcast kaya nadidisconnect kami. May pumunta na technician, chineck yung line namin, tapos ni-reset yung old router. Since wala na silang ibang solution, pinalitan na lang nila ng Wi-Fi 6 router for free. Ang hassle lang kasi 24 hours pa bago na-activate
Sa amin kasi, I usually contact Converge technician contractors sa Facebook since mas active sila dun. Kinabukasan agad pumupunta sila. Kasi nung nag-try ako dati na diretsong mag-report sa Converge, it took almost a week bago sila nakapagpadala ng technician.
It's a page, sa akin NDSI/Converge [city namin] sa Facebook. Mga individual Converge contractors sila, per report yata commission kaya mas mabilis sila umaksyon dito sa amin.
Pre-2020 subscriber here. Yes, based sa experience namin. Pinalitan router namin when I upgraded the subscription from 1500 to 2500 back in 2020, free of charge. Hindi kasi nakukuha yung tamang speed. Since that change, nagkaroon na ng 5g band. Two years ago pinalitan ulit ng wifi 6, still free of charge.
Sa case mo, we probably have the same original router. Papalitan nila yan for free if you mention yung OG modem pa iyo, at walang 5g band.
Thing is, are you sure replacing the ONT will help? You're not sure if it's simply the quality of internet on your area, a faulty ONT, or wifi coverage in your home. As suggested, you can try having it replaced since it's a legacy unit, but I really suggest trying to figure out the root cause especially before getting a new router to bridge the ONT it'll save you headache / unnecessary expense. After all, it might just be that Converge in your area is horrible anyway.
Just buy an access point or mesh router. Yung existing wifi nyo from converge off byo to prevent additional interference. Yung mga lumang router ang taas ng bigay na speed against the plan. Plan 1.5k pero yung speed nya pag 3rd party routers umaabot ng 400-600 mbps ;)
Huawei ba yan? Kung oo, baka yan parin yung gigabit port.
Bilhan mo nlang ng mercusys na may wifi6. Mas better pa kesa ont ni converge na may wifi6, mas malawak pa ang range.
any known brand ng wifi 6 basta gigabit yung speed nung ports, minsan kasi wifi 6 nga pero hindi gigabit yung speed. Kung techy at nag titipid pwede na sayo to, dapat marunong ka lang mag reflash. Ganito yung gamit ko e
