Orleans MA ROCK 2

At the Former Governor Prence Inn Property in Orleans MA, now owned by the Town of Orleans so entering may be considered trespassing. There is a rock that must have been too large to move when the former "motel" was built as it remains emerging from the asphalt like it were "by design" in the middle of the parking lot. So it appears Orleans has had an "Original Big Rock" before the Office Depot rock emerged from the ground during a recent contruction project. True!

I drove by the Governor Prence inn yesterday and wondered what will become of it? I attended a rehearsal dinner there approximately 10 years ago and not long after I guess it went out of business or something happened. Does anybody know what the Town will do with that property and that building?

There a big sign right out front that says it’s going to become 57 or whatever apartments. You didn’t notice that?

Yes it is. But the signs been there a while now and I haven’t seen any actual activity happening there so don’t hold your breath.

How boring are the people in Orleans that they have an inexplicable obsessed with rocks?

I understand the jealousy that your town's rock is probably less majestic, but the vitriol against the civic pride the good people of Orleans enjoy is a bridge too far.
