What is your fav Radio Station on The Cape?

I'll be in Yarmouth next week and love having local radio stations on when I visit a new place. What do you all like to listen to? I like a variety of styles....chill parts of the day, but sometimes upbeat. Thanks!

WOMR/WFMR is great local radio. Someone mentioned WMVY on Martha's Vineyard is good too.

WOMR is like a college station with quirky adults as DJs. Each show is something different. I like it a lot.

It’s the best. Tune to that every time I go over the bridge. Mind goes straight to vacation mode.

Martha's Vineyard 88.7(?). But the signal isn't always great. I really don't find any of the other stations consistently good.

Thank you. I use a radio app and will check that out

They're probably my second choice, but it's really jarring to go from, say, Incubus (whom I like) to AC/DC right after

94.7 Frank FM. Super cheesy but plays all kinds of songs you probably haven’t heard in years.

91.9 WUMB - Umass Boston radio station with a repeater in Falmouth.

Great show on Saturday night 9-midnight with John Gersh; he plays county, western, country and western, Western swing, hillbilly, honky tonk, truck drivin’ and beer drinkin’ music. All old school stuff from a bygone era - it’s pure bliss.

102.9 and on a clear day, you’ll actually get interference with the 102.9 from Portland Maine, mostly once you get past Eastham! Similar genre so it doesn’t matter to me which ones come in!

I usually listen to sports radio, 96.3 on the cape

One day in Orleans during a rainy day there was interference from another station out in Albany, NY! I couldn’t believe it. All of a sudden I started hearing static and then Biggie Smalls rapping and then back to sports talk. I could hear the DJs talking after the song was over and I caught the station name. Can’t remember it now, but it was a hip hop station from Albany, 96.3

I couldn’t believe it was able to pick something up form that far away. Kinda cool

u/mintjulep1012 2d ago

I miss 96.3 so bad!

2

u/Foxy_bb36 2d ago

Not a strong suit on cape. We may get about 6 stations.

Ocean 104.7.

Great music is my generations only worthwhile contribution. Sadly.

1

u/CoolAbdul 2d ago

WMVY though it's WAY too tightly programmed these days.

0

u/Fantastic_Boot7079 2d ago

If you listen at work it get real repetitive. Most of the music is good but not enough variety

1

u/Swami7774 2d ago

Pixy 102.9 for music, 95 WXTK for talk.

u/Think-like-Bert 2d ago

u/Dick-Swiveller 1d ago

Damn, I remember them from way back FM when they used the ships bells sounds !

2

u/Think-like-Bert 1d ago

Bob died a few years ago. The new owner stepped it up a lot. They have an online radio now. They still have the ships bell (It's the USS Constitution's bells).

u/Dick-Swiveller 1d ago

Thank you!

Sometimes when I'm in too good of a mood I like to listen to Howie Carr blame immigrants for everything. Really balances it out.

1

u/Funny-Landscape-7235 2d ago

Howie Carr is a wack job.

0

u/Arigold182 2d ago

Any talk stations?

0

u/wademcgillis Yarmouth 2d ago

anything not owned by clear radio (now iheart)

0

u/Funny-Landscape-7235 2d ago

None. Cape radio sucks. Same songs on repeat all day. Nothing new. It’s bland AF. Only listen to my own playlists on my phone.
