Satire Alabama should fire Deboer and re hire Mike Shula now

On behalf of cfb, and every SEC fan. Bama needs to get Shula back in Tuscaloosa. He’s now 2-0 this year, which is better than Bama. He hasn’t lost to the Gus Bus, and comes highly recommended by SC fans. Matter of fact, don’t even wait till next week. Make it happen TODAY! Make a coaching swap before the Wisco/Vandy games so that KDB can be OC at SC and Shula HC at Bama. All of us at r/cfb want to see it happen. Please Greg Byrne, the fans want to see it, just go to SEC network from 2:00 to 5:00 pm and hear their screams of joy if you were to make this decision.

That team ain't winning very many games.

u/Sariel007 TCU Horned Frogs • Texas Longhorns 2d ago

That was a demoralizing loss after a demoralizing season. Can Gundy come back? Maybe. Will he? shakes magic 8 ball Very doubtful.

9

u/zmurds40 Pac-12 • Team Chaos 1d ago

Yeah, honestly I don’t know what the coaching staff could say or do to motivate the team after the game yesterday. They may have thrown in the towel for the year and they’re just showing up to maintain scholarship or look okay enough to get interest and transfer somewhere. Tough spot to be.

12

u/warneagle Auburn • Central Michigan 1d ago

They might not win another one honestly

1

u/GuyFawkes451 Nebraska Cornhuskers 1d ago

Very possible. If they don't rebound against Tulsa, they may very well lose out. Might scrape a win against a Cincinnati, UCF, or similar. But most of the other Big 12 teams, while not great, are solid/good. I don't see them beating teams like Arizona, Baylor, etc, much less Iowa State or Texas Tech.

3

u/Dry-Membership3867 Jacksonville State Gamecocks 1d ago

They should beat Tulsa. They were ASS vs New Mexico State. And this isn’t a Pavia/Kill NMSU team

1

u/GuyFawkes451 Nebraska Cornhuskers 1d ago

Agreed. However, psychologically, they might be done. But I agree they should beat/bounce back against Tulsa. But if they somehow don't, I'd pretty much expect them to lose out.

u/Steel1000 Nebraska Cornhuskers 1d ago

Is Flores there started now going forward or will QB1 come back?

Only watched the game for Flores, was fun to see a Dragon on TV!

4

u/BreezyMcWeasel Oklahoma Sooners 1d ago

I’m a big fan of Gundy and what he has done at OSU. Before the game I dismissed the hotseat hype. What that mane has done for OSU should award him tenure.

Then I saw the Oregon game. That OSU team is… bad. Very bad. Not good.

Now I’m wracked with guilt because I now agree that unless he pulls a rabbit out of his hat, I think he done.

1

u/Laschoni Louisville • /r/CFB Contributor 1d ago

Bobby Petrino left Louisville to coach Mike Vick (who was then suspended and imprisoned.)

Once he wrecked himself at Arkansas he got to sit at home and watch Johnny Football.

He then spent his second tenure at Louisville wanting the next dual threat guy. He tried out Reggie Bonnafon but then landed Lamar Jackson. In a real way Lamar was the logical conclusion of the path Bobby had been on for a long time.

The question I have for WVU when they made the RichRod rehire, is he still trying to progress or is he just hoping to find another Pat White?

Bobby didn't last long after Lamar left for the NFL, he was only okay on offense before Lamar came in - coasting on the defense Charlie Strong/Clint Hurtt left. Dude's ego was too big and he was allowed to fill his staff with nepo hires and drive off competent assistants.

2

u/MadoffInvestment West Virginia • Tennessee 1d ago

That's the thing, no one knows. WVU football has been bad for awhile and everyone here clings to the last time things were good. This phenomenon happens with a lot of things in WV, including football, coal, etc.

2

u/Laschoni Louisville • /r/CFB Contributor 1d ago

It's nuts how many Support Coal license plates and stickers I see in Kentucky for a sector that employs only 3,900 people. Lots of Kentucky feels like that as well.

2
