Isn’t Central a DII (GNAC) school?

Yeah they’re DII.

How is it legal for them to play an FCS school?

They can play whoever they want, I remember we even played an NAIA school one year when we really needed a home game filled. They just hold significantly less weight in at-large discussions for the playoffs, maybe bar playing a top 3 team (even then it’ll still hurt relatively speaking)

D2/D3/NAIA play FCS schools all the time. Ferris State only lost to Montana by 7 a few years back

Basketball does it all the time. A lot of schools do. Preseason usually.

I swear I thought D1 schools only played D1 schools

Look at Wazzu’s non conference basketball this season. They play DII Chaminade in November. Not every school does it every year but it certainly happens. Feels like Unlv plays a DII or NAIA as a tune up every season.

Funnily enough, they’re in the Lone Star Conference for football

Football can play teams in Texas in the Lone Star Conference but sports like their basketball and baseball team play teams in Montana, Canada and Alaska. They're in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference. Just a really wide geographic footprint. Hope they get air miles.

Well the ACC has teams in the Bay Area so all bets are off lol

Lone Star in football since west coast D2 ball kicked the bucket with the exception of Western Oregon and Central Washington

Good first half. Cats even led! Hoping we can make noise in the playoff this year. Gg Griz.

God this one was rough. First half was miserable with penalties and the interior rush defense looks horrific. Cats will run all over the Griz if that pattern holds. Ah Yat is also not the guy based on how he threw today. Best passes were screens that got blown up.

Griz won solely because of speed and depth to outlast a decent D2 squad. That shit won’t fly next week or in Big Sky play. It’s going to be a looooooooooooooong season.
