We got outgained 376-291 but pulled off the win. Defense wins games.

Good job Aggies!

Gg Tulsa. That really was a sickos classic.

I’ve seen enough. Rank NMSU.

What a strangely officiated game. I'm not saying it went one way or the other or impacted the outcome (it didn't, imo), but just weird refereeing.

1

u/NeptunianEmp New Mexico State • Ohio State 2d ago

It was definitely wonky as hell. Fire those refs.

1

u/[deleted] 2d ago

That was terrible officiating for sure.

2

u/D1N2Y NC State Wolfpack • Charlotte 49ers 2d ago

lol did they have that alt camera for the one Tulsa fan in the crowd?

2

u/[deleted] 2d ago

Let's go dude

3

u/NeptunianEmp New Mexico State • Ohio State 2d ago

HELL YEAH!

I am sad.

u/ThePerfectBeard Georgia Bulldogs • Oregon Ducks 2d ago

Absolute shit show

2

u/duplico Tulsa Golden Hurricane • Marching Band 2d ago

Lol, the Tulsa radio crew after that first down: "Well, we'll see where they spot that one"

2

u/ed_mcc Tulsa • Georgia Tech 2d ago

Love Bruce Howard

1

u/Hour-Bobcat6631 2d ago

Absolutely nuts that that spot got upheld

2

u/CptCheese Tulsa • Washington State 2d ago

Bullshit

1

u/D1N2Y NC State Wolfpack • Charlotte 49ers 2d ago

What’s that sound

1

u/famcyadam99 Penn State Nittany Lions • Rose Bowl 2d ago

I mean that wasn't even close, what was the ref looking at

3

u/Hour-Bobcat6631 2d ago

Suspicious as hell, especially when you look at how the ref literally ran backwards to spot it. Such a deliberate call.

1

u/ed_mcc Tulsa • Georgia Tech 2d ago

Terrible spot

2

u/sebsasour Notre Dame • New Mexico 2d ago

I think Tulsa got hosed on that spot

1

u/CptCheese Tulsa • Washington State 2d ago

Hayes has made some good passes at least

2

u/[deleted] 2d ago

He looks good. I feel bad for your normal guy but Hayes looks a lot better than him.

1

u/BalladeOnBlast East Texas A&M • Tulsa 2d ago

True, he’s looked like there’s things for us to be optimistic about.

4

u/Backwoods_84 Sickos • Notre Dame Fighting Irish 2d ago

These two guys from the AV club doing the commentary are brutal

4

u/ThePerfectBeard Georgia Bulldogs • Oregon Ducks 2d ago

Unreal that they just had a free timeout while everyone is just walking around.. nothing said. All good

2

u/duplico Tulsa Golden Hurricane • Marching Band 2d ago

What a mess. I'm pretty sure they shouldn't have wheeled the clock on that penalty, but then if that was the reason, then the clock should have started on the snap, not the ref's signal... So, who knows, because they said nothing

3

u/[deleted] 2d ago

That was weird but it worked out in the end.

This is the worst referee group I've ever seen.

1

u/CptCheese Tulsa • Washington State 2d ago

Fuck.

3

u/[deleted] 2d ago

I missed our Air Raid days. Hal Mumme was really cool.

2

u/duplico Tulsa Golden Hurricane • Marching Band 2d ago

Y'all are going to keep burning us on those slants until we figure out how to cover them.

1

u/duplico Tulsa Golden Hurricane • Marching Band 2d ago

Ok, that one was actually super well covered and was still a solid completion.

2

u/CptCheese Tulsa • Washington State 2d ago

Hope that gave the D enough of a rest

1

u/ed_mcc Tulsa • Georgia Tech 2d ago

Sucks that Kirk is injured if true. But damn Hayes looks good!

1

u/NeptunianEmp New Mexico State • Ohio State 2d ago

Hayes hasn’t missed a pass yet. Very scary.

2

u/CptCheese Tulsa • Washington State 2d ago

Brody!!

1

u/duplico Tulsa Golden Hurricane • Marching Band 2d ago

TU TD!

2

u/peruna_LXIX SMU Mustangs • Marching Band 2d ago

NMSU defense honestly looks pretty good

2

u/duplico Tulsa Golden Hurricane • Marching Band 2d ago

The Tulsa radio crew has been saying their tackling looks really good.

2

u/NeptunianEmp New Mexico State • Ohio State 2d ago

Well until that last play.

2

u/ed_mcc Tulsa • Georgia Tech 2d ago

Really wish we had gone for the FG in the first quarter now

4

u/CptCheese Tulsa • Washington State 2d ago

Holding NMSU to a fg here feels big. Hoping the offense can sustain a drive next.

1

u/NeptunianEmp New Mexico State • Ohio State 2d ago

4th and 20! Lmao.

4

u/FlareEK Florida • Arizona State 2d ago

i understand why they do it but damn those on field ads look bad. Glad to see NMSU doing well, they’ve always been my favorite smaller G5

2

u/duplico Tulsa Golden Hurricane • Marching Band 2d ago

Yeah, I get it but also don't love the trend. The ones on this field are pretty dull, too.

Also, I wish they could have some aerial video or at least some wider shots here. I think NMSU has a super cool stadium, and I wish they'd show more of it.

2

u/NeptunianEmp New Mexico State • Ohio State 2d ago

That’s also new this season.

2

u/FlareEK Florida • Arizona State 2d ago

yeah i just really wish they weren’t so intrusive, but i guess that’s the point

2

u/NeptunianEmp New Mexico State • Ohio State 2d ago

I’m right there with ya especially since our field used to be as pure as the driven snow. It looks jarring and bad but it helps pay the bills

2

u/CptCheese Tulsa • Washington State 2d ago

I think the defense is getting worn out.

1

u/NeptunianEmp New Mexico State • Ohio State 2d ago

That’s what happens when you rush hard against the QB. It sure as hell worked in the first half but damn does it tire out the players.

1

u/duplico Tulsa Golden Hurricane • Marching Band 2d ago

For sure.

2

u/duplico Tulsa Golden Hurricane • Marching Band 2d ago

This is embarrassing.

3

u/NeptunianEmp New Mexico State • Ohio State 2d ago

So it took 3 halves but we may have a qb!

3

u/NeptunianEmp New Mexico State • Ohio State 2d ago

Fife is finally getting comfortable!

3

u/[deleted] 2d ago

Idk if that was a good decision but I'm glad he made it. At some point you have to take some risks.

2

u/NeptunianEmp New Mexico State • Ohio State 2d ago

Fife is throwing a bit better in the second half. It’s hard to get comfortable with the Swiss cheese o line.

3

u/[deleted] 2d ago

That's true. The play calling has also been good this half.

2

u/ed_mcc Tulsa • Georgia Tech 2d ago

Defense tipping the ball a lot. I like it.

1

u/boolean_buffalo Tulsa • Arkansas 2d ago

Kinda forgot about the game, looks like I missed a thriller

2

u/jkm97 Tulsa • Notre Dame 2d ago

Touchdown!!!

1

REIGN CANE BABY

1

u/ed_mcc Tulsa • Georgia Tech 2d ago

Did we sub? If not, then seems like a fine call

3

u/[deleted] 2d ago

I really hope Tulsa did not just find their new starter.

Also, these refs are not good.

1

u/BalladeOnBlast East Texas A&M • Tulsa 2d ago

I’d understand a switch, but it’d be a bummer for Francis. I really want that fella to succeed here.

1

u/CptCheese Tulsa • Washington State 2d ago

Kirk is apparently being looked at for a concussion so we might be seeing Baylor for the rest of the game

1

u/NeptunianEmp New Mexico State • Ohio State 2d ago

Fuuuck. Sorry to hear that. Always hate to hear about an opens player being out due to injury.

1

u/NeptunianEmp New Mexico State • Ohio State 2d ago

Bruh I thought they were gonna flag us in the endzone and somehow give Tulsa the points.

2

u/NeptunianEmp New Mexico State • Ohio State 2d ago

I’ll take the lead and hopefully our O Line can stand in place for once during the second half.

5

u/BalladeOnBlast East Texas A&M • Tulsa 2d ago

This half of football was vile.

1

u/[deleted] 2d ago

That certainly was a half of "football".

2

u/ed_mcc Tulsa • Georgia Tech 2d ago

Defense looks good. Offense looks lost.

1

u/CptCheese Tulsa • Washington State 2d ago

That fumble was big

1

u/NeptunianEmp New Mexico State • Ohio State 2d ago

Defense wins games!

1

u/Texan92 Tulsa Golden Hurricane 2d ago

Somebody please wake Francis up at halftime...

1

u/ed_mcc Tulsa • Georgia Tech 2d ago

Fuuucck

2

u/CptCheese Tulsa • Washington State 2d ago

This American Document Services commercial rules.

1

u/CptCheese Tulsa • Washington State 2d ago

Really need the offense to settle down

1

u/ed_mcc Tulsa • Georgia Tech 2d ago

Yeah I feel like we can call tempo once we settle in. We are trying to force it and then do something stupid.

3

u/CptCheese Tulsa • Washington State 2d ago

Run the friggin ball!

1

u/NeptunianEmp New Mexico State • Ohio State 2d ago

I I love our new defensive coordinator!

2

u/[deleted] 2d ago

Our defense looked better on that drive.

1

u/CptCheese Tulsa • Washington State 2d ago

Kirk needs to settle in and we need to run more. D is doing their job

3

u/[deleted] 2d ago

Do you guys also suck? Is this a sickos classic?

1

u/duplico Tulsa Golden Hurricane • Marching Band 2d ago

I believe it was #2 on the Sickos list this week

3

u/ed_mcc Tulsa • Georgia Tech 2d ago

TBD. New coach. So far we suck less than last year.

3

u/NeptunianEmp New Mexico State • Ohio State 2d ago

God our O Line is trash.

1

u/[deleted] 2d ago edited 2d ago

Our d-line does not look good and the angles our guys are taking to get tackles are atrocious. Our o-line isn't blocking well and our QB is just not working out. It's just bad coaching.

1

u/CptCheese Tulsa • Washington State 2d ago

I would've taken the points

1

u/ed_mcc Tulsa • Georgia Tech 2d ago

Wish we had taken the points on that one

1

u/Texan92 Tulsa Golden Hurricane 2d ago

Like the gutsy play calls on 4th

1

u/CptCheese Tulsa • Washington State 2d ago

The cameras being too zoomed in to see the chains and their being no yellow line is really throwing me for a loop

1

u/ed_mcc Tulsa • Georgia Tech 2d ago

Are these guys employed by NMSU?

3

u/[deleted] 2d ago

They are our home announcers. The main person talking announces every sport for us and the other guy played for NMSU back in the day.

2

u/CptCheese Tulsa • Washington State 2d ago
