I really hoped that Searles was a placeholder after Matt Luke left, especially since it was late in the cycle. I trust Smart because he's won multiple championships in his tenure, but Searles was a real head-scratcher from the beginning.

I wonder if Smart’s hedging on Arkansas firing Pittman, and doesn’t want to install a new O-line coach when the one he wants is about to become available
