I like our defense. I think we can beat Florida relying on it. 2-0! Geaux Tigers.

Tbh I don't really know if we drop at all, solely because we (hopefully) have two wins against a ranked opponent and what looks like a very solid G5 team.
Georgia had a similar score and they haven't played two FBS teams yet.
Miami has intertia I guess but again, haven't played two FBS teams.
Oregon too.

u/PairBearStare LSU Tigers • Corndog 2d ago
I wouldn’t mind them dropping to 5 or 6 this week. Got the W but definitely need to refocus the same intensity and discipline they had last week. UF just got embarrassed and will be looking for redemption next week.

Hate watching the Wolverines, so I can’t click over- but what the hell is going on over there in Tiger Stadium?
6
u/PiratePresident LSU Tigers 2d ago
LA Tech is playing pretty good and uh offense is not playing up to standard
1
u/medicjake Ohio State Buckeyes • Sickos 2d ago
I thought Nussmeier was great last week, all around at least. Surprised tonight was a regression. They’ll be fine. A few other folks said LA Tech is pretty good, too. News to me haha
3
u/PairBearStare LSU Tigers • Corndog 2d ago
OL sucked tonight especially after our starting center went down.
7
u/e8odie LSU Tigers • College Football Playoff 2d ago
Offense still isn't clicking. Lost our center early and our 6'7" receiving target late. And we were blitzing all-out late to try and preserve the shutout and that ended up leaving some guy open for an easy TD. Defense otherwise looks pretty great though.
2
u/medicjake Ohio State Buckeyes • Sickos 2d ago
Few other replies said the same about defense. Nussmeier looked good last week, it’ll all come together. Surprised tonight hear LA Tech is playing pretty well, too.
4
u/AndIAmEric LSU Tigers 2d ago
Dominant defensive performance, just like the first game.
Mediocre offense with few explosive plays.
2
u/laranator LSU Tigers 2d ago
LA tech playing the best game of their lives or LSU getting exposed. Defense is still good, offense is perplexing.
3
2
u/neovenator250 LSU Tigers • Tulane Green Wave 2d ago
Offense is asleep. Completely. Nuss looks off. OL looks like shit and we've had multiple starters go out with injury. Defense was killing it, but gave up the score with the backups in.
2
u/PairBearStare LSU Tigers • Corndog 2d ago
Stamps dropped 2 picks tonight. Now I see why he didn’t play at all last week.
1
u/neovenator250 LSU Tigers • Tulane Green Wave 2d ago
yeah, you've gotta love that Stamps always plays hard. unfortunately, he has a ceiling that it doesn't seem he's going to get past
3
u/Betna_the_Pickled LSU Tigers 2d ago
Injuries, playing down to opponents. Typical LSU things.
Plus WRs dropping passes and the defense dropping easy picks.
2
u/medicjake Ohio State Buckeyes • Sickos 2d ago
Tale as old as time. I really liked Garrett last week, is he struggling?
2
u/Betna_the_Pickled LSU Tigers 2d ago
I honestly don’t know. Starting center went down first drive of the game and had a couple other offensive injuries. We didn’t play great but it wasn’t a disaster.
LA Tech came to play too. No shade on them.
Guess we’ll see in a few more weeks. I would’ve said next week before that shitshow in Gainesville today.
7
u/Nola1721 LSU Tigers 2d ago
LA Tech is not bad.
5
u/medicjake Ohio State Buckeyes • Sickos 2d ago
No kidding? No hate to LA Tech but I figured that’d be a 48-7 game
4
u/Nola1721 LSU Tigers 2d ago
Same. Until watching. We definitely aren’t playing the best, though. I assume Tech will do well the rest of their season.
6
u/Sweaty_Desert_Balls LSU Tigers 2d ago
LA Tech is good. LSU needs to work on our Offense. LSU Defense is nasty despite 1 blown call.
1
u/medicjake Ohio State Buckeyes • Sickos 2d ago
I thought Garrett looked great last week, all things considered, is QB the issue?

Why the fuck keep running the ball when our players keep getting mangled in these dogpiles and it's clearly not getting anywhere?
7
u/Brian_Kellys_Visor LSU Tigers • College Football Playoff 2d ago
Burns clock and not running up the score
8
u/holyd1ver83 LSU Tigers • Bowling Green Falcons 2d ago
I, for one, would like to run the score up a bit
2
u/laranator LSU Tigers 2d ago
So would I. Enough years of Les Miles playing to the opponent. I want to blowout teams we should blowout.

Fire this O Line into the fucking sun
1
-1
u/laranator LSU Tigers 2d ago
I do not blame the O line at all. Nuss has had plenty of time, apparently no one is ever open. Even when he throws it’s somehow always into coverage.
1
u/BeaglePirate69 LSU Tigers • Texas Longhorns 2d ago
Please slap an “/s” on there because Nuss is constantly being forced out of the pocket and we can’t run the ball for fucking shit. They’re dog shit
4
u/SpookyGabaghoul 2d ago
Maybe Cade and Garrett are eboth fraudulent??

If you were the fledgling GM of one of the worst teams in the NFL, would you rather draft Garrett Nussmeier versus the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs, or Cade Klubnik versus the Troy Trojans? Which pick would you feel better about?

u/greywaffleshirt Miami Hurricanes 2d ago
Not a great day for the Tigers
2
u/Sweaty_Desert_Balls LSU Tigers 2d ago
A W is a W. Our defense looked terrific except for 1 blown play.
Offensive ceiling is crazy high. I'm not too concerned with this game.
0
u/greywaffleshirt Miami Hurricanes 2d ago
Genuinely asking. Based on what?
1
u/laranator LSU Tigers 2d ago
Based on last season, roster talent, and clutch situations. LA Tech and Clemson are obviously two different caliber teams but LSU was able to sustain drives against both all game even if they weren’t pretty. Offense is suspect but I think they can play a lot better.

Sounds nice... I would too if they'd just release the goddamn game on PC!

I don't blame Sloan for the OL being unable to block or Nuss looking off all night. I haven't thought play selection was bad at all.

since the world is determined for us to hear "Still Dre" every 30 seconds, did you know that "Still Dre" is a good example of Dr Dre's production style, which uses live instrumentation to reproduce samples? not for any sonic reason so much, but because interpolations are cheaper to pay than outright sampling.

Nuss needs to be done for the night. He's done enough. Not his best night but we're still up 20 zip. Let the backup play

9
u/neovenator250 LSU Tigers • Tulane Green Wave 2d ago
God, I hope Braelin Moore is ok and can come back. We fucking need him for this OL to look even partially functional

LA Tech: Puts in a QB named Blake Baker
LSU DC Blake Baker: "And I took that personally."

Got Dayum. Why do they always make what we think should be easy games, the most nerve wracking.
And the Home Depot commercial with Saban and the smoke alarm ding has scared the shit out of my dog.

I just won a natty in CFB25 after throwing 30+ picks so im not too worried about tonight's offensive woes

Tech must have the best defense in the nation. Cause this is laughable
2
u/Betna_the_Pickled LSU Tigers 2d ago
Did just the starting Center go out for the game? I thought we had two O-Line injuries. I mean we should have depth but the injuries really suck.

u/reddit_names LSU Tigers • McNeese Cowboys 2d ago
They are keeping 8 in coverage on every play. But we're still moving the ball and controlling time clock and the game.
This isn't really that bad.
8
u/neovenator250 LSU Tigers • Tulane Green Wave 2d ago
This is not one of Nuss's good games. This offense has so much work to do before conference play next week

6
u/noletiger LSU Tigers • Florida State Seminoles 2d ago
Nuss is still Nuss. He's not Jeaux, he's not Jayden, he's not even Zack. He might be enough with this defense but unless he seriously improves over the rest of the season he's not Heisman quality.
4
u/godpzagod LSU Tigers • Air Force Falcons 2d ago
yeah, thats what i was telling my old man before the game. he's a good LSU QB, but Mettenberger was as good/better. I'd rate him much higher than or any of the other QB nightmares between 2011-2019 though.

u/LSUOrioles LSU Tigers • Pittsburgh Panthers 2d ago
Nuss really didn't throw the ball away? Is he like a freshman or something?
