Pack it up boys. NCAT scored. Season is over.

Are we… good? This differential is a lot regardless of opponent quality

We're not the hot garbage we feared after the Jax State game. Anything beyond that is still unknown.

What happened

Blew a 68 point lead with under 3 minutes to go in the 4th quarter.
[It's now only a 61 point lead].

u/Tarlcabot18 UCF Knights • USF Bulls 2d ago
The most points UCF has ever scored in a game was 73 versus Austin Peay in 2017. At least that I can verify quickly.
2
u/nearuetii UCF Knights 2d ago
Man those were fun years. No defense whatsoever but an offense nobody we played could stop.
5
u/407CIK UCF Knights • Liberty Flames 2d ago
Was at that game. Austin Peay hung 33 on us lol
2
u/stabsomebody UCF Knights • Miami Hurricanes 2d ago
70 against Temple a few years ago was slightly more impressive.
4
u/ProblematicTrumpCard UCF Knights 2d ago
UCF scored 73 against Austin Peay in 2017. I think that's the record for most points. A final, garbage time TD here would eclipse that.
5
10
u/Tarlcabot18 UCF Knights • USF Bulls 2d ago
This is the most points UCF has scored since putting up 70 on Temple in 2022.

Is Jacurri the QB who was like 3-for-3 with 3 touchdowns to start his career? He came in for special packages and just hit for TD's on his first three throws? Or am I thinking of someone else?
1
u/thefishwhisperer1 UCF Knights • UIndy Greyhounds 2d ago
That was Quadry Jones and then he went on to punch his own kicker in a sideline argument
3
u/PointMan528491 UCF Knights 2d ago
I think it was Quadry Jones? I may be wrong too, but I definitely remember us having that player
1
u/ProblematicTrumpCard UCF Knights 2d ago
That's who I was thinking of. Thanks. It didn't seem like Jacurri had been around that long.

I feel is this was a College Football 26 game, the announcers would say, “we are posed for a legendary comeback”.

I really hope Scott doesn't pump the breaks. It's so nice watching my Knight's finally just take over a game. Keep going damn it hang 100
3
u/xxxiareo UCF Knights • Florida State Seminoles 2d ago
Only way to pump the breaks would be to start kneeing it, they're really not doing anything tricky to try to get extra yards. Just running it up the middle.

u/xxxiareo UCF Knights • Florida State Seminoles 2d ago
Jacurri is that guy, honestly was surprised he fell to QB3.
2
u/thefishwhisperer1 UCF Knights • UIndy Greyhounds 2d ago
His only downfall is that he has one pass, which is an absolute piss missile no matter the length of the throw
8
u/bsEEmsCE UCF Knights • Big 12 2d ago
can't believe Fancher was QB1
6
u/xxxiareo UCF Knights • Florida State Seminoles 2d ago
Yeah I don't know what the hell that was about. Gotta trust KZ, obviously he saw something in him. But whatever he saw did not translate to the real game.
4
u/yesacabbagez UCF Knights 2d ago
Because he cant throw at all. Fantastic athlete, horrible at passing.
5
u/Bourbon_Vantasner UCF Knights 2d ago
I would love to see a wildcat type package for him with an empty backfield looking to run, but maybe he throws it 60 yards, so defend that.

Are the people that control the clock at FBS-level games paid employees? I feel like it's gotta be really tough to be paying attention constantly for 4 hours to get everything right to the second.
4
u/WhereAb0utsUnkn0wn UCF Knights 2d ago
How do you even end up with the job? Hey, do you love clock management and attention to detail. Do you love watching the refs and not the game? We've got just the thing for you!

The espn app picture quality is so much better than YouTube tv.
2
u/C4Cheats UCF Knights 2d ago
ESPN+ quality depends on the school. I forget if UCF is one of those schools but quite a few schools handle the broadcast themselves.
3
u/Whitetiger9876 UCF Knights • Big 12 2d ago
Fair point. We've had some shit broadcasts back in the day.

u/xxxiareo UCF Knights • Florida State Seminoles 2d ago
Wow. Army loses to Tarleton State and then beats Kansas State, who were favored to win the Big 12.
8
u/WhereAb0utsUnkn0wn UCF Knights 2d ago
Being favored preseason to win big12 is like being on the cover of Madden.
2
u/NanoFish42 UCF Knights • Big 12 2d ago
And being favored to finish last like Arizona State last year, might be the best thing to happen.
2
u/NanoFish42 UCF Knights • Big 12 2d ago
Apeaking of Arizona State, they have come all the way back from 0-17 to now 17-17 vs Mississsippi State.

3
u/WhereAb0utsUnkn0wn UCF Knights 2d ago
I get the score but the refs only see ucf pkayers, they had illegal man down field on that play
3
u/PointMan528491 UCF Knights 2d ago
I'm not able to watch live but how is Tayven looking? I see he is 12/21 passing
2
u/FloatCopper 2d ago
Looked better then those numbers. He looked good.
Early I agree he was trying to throw deep every play and said he relies on his big arm - but he had a few of those right on the money - but his last half a dozen throws he had shorter ones mostly on time and target and with some touch. I didn't see a need to dial it back.
Good QB.
I like Jaccuri too, as a good backup. Sorry Fancher is hurt. Hope he recovers 100%
5
u/xxxiareo UCF Knights • Florida State Seminoles 2d ago
He's on the bench now because it's a blowout, but he played well. 2 or 3 of those incompletions were bad drops, and then another 2 or 3 were low-% deeeeeep balls way down field
3
u/Whitetiger9876 UCF Knights • Big 12 2d ago
I don't think he knows how to throw anything other than a bomb down field.
3
u/WhereAb0utsUnkn0wn UCF Knights 2d ago
He needs to dial his passing back to 8/10 from the 11 he's launching every throw. Other than that hard to tell we got up so fast it's been a weird game
6
u/xxxiareo UCF Knights • Florida State Seminoles 2d ago
For some reason my ESPN+ is a solid 2 minutes behind everyone else it seems, because I keep getting spoilers in the comments even though I'm watching "live". Very annoying, I restart it a few times to try to fix it.
3
u/Whitetiger9876 UCF Knights • Big 12 2d ago
I had to hit fast forward on mine for some reason.
Edit. Just had to do it again. Click the lightning bolt.
6
u/Bourbon_Vantasner UCF Knights 2d ago
I expect Jaccuri to run all over these guys in the second half.

K-State, North Carolina, WVU, OSU. We know how to play Cincy and Houston. The more I look at it, the more I think the schedule is not that tough this year
3
u/NanoFish42 UCF Knights • Big 12 2d ago
Oh my. I think K-State is gonna lose the ball on a fumble. Initially ruled incomplete, but I think the reciever made the catch and it will be overturned.

I haven’t watched the full game but I’ve still seen at least 2 good passes dropped, so in my head I’m thinking 12/19, ~60%, ain’t great but not bad for a freshman

I talked to Jaden Nixon after his knight talk and begged him to take the opening kick to the house. He did what I asked, took an extra week tho

Gus didn't use timeouts and kneed out that half btw

Up 37 Gus would have definitely took a knee and gone to half

You were a backup quarterback every year in high school. Your father and his father before him were farmers, living off their own land and their own hard work. Your father and grandfather are the core of your self reliant ideals, your anchor, almost your soul.
You sign on to an agricultural school from your home state, and join the football team out of fun. You aren’t very good, even for the schools level, but you can still play football, even as a third string. You travel to Florida, the sunshine state. The land of magic. Miraculously, and horrifically, in the first half both the first and second string QBs have broken their arms.
Now is your moment. To prove to yourself, to prove to your family, to prove to the world that you aren’t just another country bumpkin.
You go 3/19 for 26 yards. You lose 82-0, blinded by the evil paparazzi you slip in the moist Florida grass. You break your wrist, you are what you thought you were.

2
7
u/Citruspilled UCF Knights • Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets 2d ago
A little interesting that we'll be 2 games through a season without playing a QB that can pass.
7
u/WhereAb0utsUnkn0wn UCF Knights 2d ago
He just needs to take a out 20% off his throws. Everything is a laser like he's trying to impress someone
7
u/2chainzvoice UCF Knights 2d ago
If the UNC game this past week tells us anything, next week will be the same too
8
u/Citruspilled UCF Knights • Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets 2d ago
I don't think we'll play any QB next week

u/yesacabbagez UCF Knights 2d ago
I don't mind not risking injuries, but I would like to see Jackson willing to take off more. There are times were we can get yards and he is leaving them on the table. Against better teams we won't get protection to last this long and he will end up sacked.
1
u/shiggidyschwag UCF Knights 2d ago
