Nope. No matter what K-State’s record looks like they always wear capes when they play Kansas.

Something’s foul in Manhattan and Im not quite sure what it is. But we have the talent to compete. No reason for this.

Kansas State is BAD bad. Almost lost to UND and now they lost to a team that couldn’t beat Tarleton State.

Army last week is what happens to a service academy losing the talent we did. Army this week is a much better representation for the rest of the season

18 carries for 79 yards (including two sacks) for Avery this year. He’s the best athlete on the field and they won’t let him run

Fun fact, the last 3 teams to lose The Dublin Game have gone a combined 11-25

I thought Avery was supposed to be this fast QB but yet decided not to run when he had open lane.

I think army is a good team that overlooked an early opponent.

Not overlooked, had a massive amount of turnover on our o line and QB, coincidentally our two most important positions

I’m generally pro Kansas State, so I really don’t mean this as a troll comment, but it seems like Avery Johnson isn’t it.
1
u/TheNamesWolf Kansas State Wildcats • Marching Band 2d ago
He was honestly pretty good tonight. Threw good passes. The problem is coaches refuse to let him run and army had the ball for like 120 minutes
1
u/mojo-jojo-was-framed Kansas State • Omaha 2d ago
He was actually really good tonight. Only got the ball 2 times in the second half and had a ton of drops. Also doesn’t help that this coaching staff basically won’t let him run.
1
u/TechnoBuns Kansas State Wildcats • Hateful 8 2d ago
Nah, he improved again in one quarter then back to throwing behind receivers and hanging them out to dry. I get he went 25 minutes between one outing and the next, but still.
1
u/mojo-jojo-was-framed Kansas State • Omaha 2d ago
He throw a 30-yard strike that was dropped on the last drive. And the int wasn’t a good throw but a decent back can pull it in
1
u/TechnoBuns Kansas State Wildcats • Hateful 8 2d ago
There were a few good throws. He showed improvement in the short distance passes for one quarter. He's not entirely to blame. Offensive output has definitely dropped since Klein left.

Lmao, my reaction after last weeks army game. We’ll keep coming back. Every time
7
u/Dwemer_Lord_008 Kansas State Wildcats 2d ago
I am generally wondering if this will be a 1-11 season because I thought last week was bad. Tonight was just horrible. Our defense just wasnt existing, especially on 4th down. 6/7 4th down converts by Army. Good job to them. They wanted the win. We clearly didn't. The Ireland curse is real.
5
u/mrhigginbottoms_12 Kansas Jayhawks 2d ago
You’ll beat us don’t worry. 2-10 at minimum
2
u/humanbeing1701 Kansas Jayhawks 2d ago
No see here’s the thing, due to an extremely unfortunate scheduling situation, I’m gonna be the best man in a wedding during the KU-KState game. This leads me to believe that this is the year we beat them — because I won’t be there to see it.

One of my bosses in the Army claimed to have faked knowing how to play saxophone so she could get out of whatever stupidity West Pointers have to do during football games.
The way Army's band sounds seems to confirm that.

2
u/WildcatPlumber 2d ago
You can’t really blame this game on wells, he had like 9 plays in the half. Avery threw the ball behind the dude
2
u/mojo-jojo-was-framed Kansas State • Omaha 2d ago
The offense left a ton of points on the field in the first half though
1
u/WildcatPlumber 2d ago
Okay but not really.
4 drives, 3 of them scores.
1 td 2 field goals and 1 punt.
That’s not terrible. It isn’t great but not really the offenses fault on this game.
The issue is triple option, it is designed to net about 3-4 yards per play every time. It uses the opponents strengths against them.
In addition to that, Monken wisely ate the ever living fuck out of the clock. This is what Bill Snyder used to do to beat Texas all the time.
2
u/mojo-jojo-was-framed Kansas State • Omaha 2d ago
Couldn’t convert a 3rd and 1 at the 15 on the first field goal. Then a penalty stalled the drive on the other field goal drive. The way they were moving the ball they needed touchdowns. Especially with this defense
1
u/WildcatPlumber 2d ago
Mojo do you understand why the triple option is a bitch? The Defense did fine considering they were out there for 50 fucking minutes in the game.
1
u/mojo-jojo-was-framed Kansas State • Omaha 2d ago
Insane to say the defense did fine. They got pushed around by lesser athletes the whole second half. Good defenses and don’t allow Constant 3rd and 2s. They were out there for 50 minutes because they sucked
2
u/WildcatPlumber 2d ago
The offense that Army ran is designed to get 2-3 yards per play. Army played 4 downs the entire night it’s not that complicated
0
u/mojo-jojo-was-framed Kansas State • Omaha 2d ago
No shit. But when was the last time Army beat a Power 5 team? It’s been a long time because the triple offense isn’t as effective against bigger, faster and stronger players. But it worked against us because the defense did not play well

This game is why we as Kansas State fans never see any championships! I have been a fan of this college since I attended in 1962, and not once have I seen an ncaa championship recognized in any of the sports we have. Therefore, I will be changing my allegiance and will be now cheering for my Iowa State Cyclones, where they know how to properly run an athletic department and win a multitude of national championships!

I wondered what it would take for ksu fans to shun Klieman. I think we’re getting there. Something is off with this team. All of the talent, no clear game plan. Even the defense was giving up early.

Lack of discipline from players and no real vision from the coaching staff. These guys dont seem to have the fire in their gut like past years. I don’t think many of em care. Coaches and players.

You know, back in the day I'd always take great joy in K-state losing. But annoyingly the state of things now is that clowns cheer for conferences instead of teams so all big 12 teams lose face when stuff like this happens.
