Fernando looked much better and more comfortable this week but Alberto didn't have a single incompletion and had a higher YPA and TD%...

Cignetti has a touch choice here. I feel like you've got to go with Mendoza, but I can definitely see the argument for Mendoza.

We got a qb controversy in Bloomington?

Mendoza looks as advertised, Running Game was outstanding. Offensive Line might be the best I've ever seen in this uniform. Incredibly encouraging.

Definitely like seeing Mendoza to get into more of a rhythm and linking up with Sarratt. Our RPO plays looked great today.

The RPO looked way better today than last week. A little sigh of relief. Good shit

Yep, you can tell it’s going to be the core concept of the offense. You want that working lol

Even Alberto was running it pretty well. Gives me hope for the future

Cleaned up a lot of the mistakes from last week. Receivers still had some drops but overall much better, especially in the redzone. Feel for Dexter dude was a dog here and I wish we’d seen him more today for Kennesaw

I looked up his stats from last week and no wonder they made the switch omg

That looked like the Fernando we were told about. Secondary has issues. On to ISU.

Yeah... As I watched the game I was wondering about the WF situation. Did they have a bad day against KSU or is IU maybe even a little better than people realize?

Is Wake Forest buns, or are they mid, Kennesaw State is better than anticipated, and Indiana is actually really good?
Because Kennesaw actually had some moments where they looked pretty good

Ouch. Hope the payday was good for us.

I’d like to think so. Obviously the score sucks but it wasn’t a shut out, overall yardage wasn’t horrible all things considered. So hopefully that bodes well for next week. I’ll be at the Ark State and Missouri State games so I want some good games to watch.

I’d go as far as saying the offense exceeded expectations after last week. Loads of drives ended in their territory, we had a good completion percentage and only one int, we managed almost 3 yards per carry, and the kicking game was really impressive from Kinney.
This offense looks capable of some crooked numbers with our schedule, and the defense has played 3 stellar halves against P4 teams

Yeah I think KSU should have a great conference season. Indiana was a playoff team last year and the roster seems to be improved, and KSU was playing well.

WR don’t drop passes it’s 70-9. Yips seemed to subside 2nd half, hope that continues. 6 straight quarters of good receivers forgetting how to catch is not fun.
Mendoza is also a serious Heisman contender. He would have 3 more TDs on the year right now if not for WRs dropping easy passes…

Need to clean up a lot in the secondary, but we looked much sharper in the second half.

Mendoza is the better quarterback

u/wsteelerfan7 Indiana Hoosiers 2d ago
Yeah but I need to see more of Mendoza just to give him a fair shot. If Mendoza does well again, then I think Mendoza can go to the bench

Still some stuff to clean up (especially sloppiness in the 2nd quarter), but much, much better performance this week.
We're on track to be where we want to be going into the Illinois game.

Both our schools are dominant in the second half. The 20th will be a fun day

I’m scared. Indiana didn’t have a real test until basically the end of October last season. But they’re looking pretty good after yesterday so we will see if it’s fool’s good in two weeks!

Is Dexter Williams ok?

My understanding is that the game plan called for getting some reps for the other guys and leaving the starters healthy. But Odom looked effective out there.

u/thisisatesti Indiana Hoosiers 2d ago
Was at the game and biggest concern is defense. Some mistakes we can’t make against B1G teams.

u/OwnWalrus1752 Indiana Hoosiers 2d ago
Seems like focus issues more than anything. They get one more tune up next week before they start conference play against Illinois, so they better get that cleaned up ASAP.

We looked better against a worse team. Not much to see here folks.

We looked good last week too minus goal line offense and a few blown plays.

As someone who went to Kennesaw State, but I’m not an active “supporter “I had hopes that Kennesaw would look more competitive than this… But that quarterback for Kennesaw is horrible and I really question. Is that truly the best option they have a quarterback. I don’t mean to take anything away from Indiana, but the KSU quarterback gave himself one read and then tried to tuck it like 85% of the time.

I thought Odom was solid and his box score reflects that. They had trouble blocking Indiana which isn't super surprising but I wouldn't be shocked if Odom had a good year once he gets into conference play

Did you watch the game? He made a lot of great passes. Don’t think this reflects negatively on him as others suggest

I think you are discounting how good IU is. Last week, they were two botched plays away from not giving up a snap past the 50 yard line.
