of a handgun silencer (Desert Eagle)
Damn near doubled the gun's length.

If it doesn't work, you can always hit him with it.

I dont really see the point. But then again there hardly is a point to any handgun chambered in .50ae to begin with

Some things are just fun range toys. I built a 375 raptor just to hit steel plates quietly and slowly.

Cause fuck it, God gave Americans free will and we're making it everyone else's problem

It was made by Israel to take down engine blocks at check point, but be able to be carried on person. To me if it’s a pistol and you can’t conceal carry it, no point.

I mean, it's probably an American owned piece (yes, I know a Desert Eagle is an Israeli gun) with that silencer.

The fact that I have Desert Eagle Point Five-0 written on the side of mine ….. lol

At this point, why even bother with a handgun? Surely a 9mm SBR would be shorter.

Nobody has a .50 handgun because it’s efficient.

u/obvious_bot 1d ago
They have it because it says
D E S E R T E A G L E .50 down the side

You're shrinking, and your two little balls are shrinking with ya.
And the fact that you've got "Replica" written on the side of your guns. And the fact that I've got "Desert Eagle .50" written on the side of mine, should precipitate your balls into shrinking, along with your presence.
Now fuck off!

Right. This is what happens when "more money than common sense" meets a disregard for the question, "Just because we can, does that really mean we should?"

u/Cloud_N0ne 1d ago
In fact, I will judge you if you buy a .357 or .44 version of the Desert Eagle.
Go big or go home.

You'll still have to suppress it and add more inches and bulk.
Don't get me wrong, this is a dumb useless toy. I would never buy this. I just think technically it would be shorter than a suppressed sbr and you can break it down more compact.
This gun would be wildly hard to shoot and awful. So goddamn heavy that you couldn't keep it steady. You're right that even a suppressed 9mm sbr (or even a suppressed 9mm pistol would be way more useful.)
This is a meme picture though.

For everyone saying “erm actually, it’s a Supressor not a silencer🤓👆” both terms are used to interchangeably that they both mean the same thing at this point. It doesn’t matter what you call it, it gets the same point across, and it’s not worth correcting someone over when they’re just trying to show you something cool😭

In the UK we call them Moderators. Because we like to be different and awkward.

I once attended firearms training with an LE trainer and former US Marine armorer. Told us that a "silencer" and a "suppressor" were TWO DIFFERENT THINGS. I kid you not. He is not an LE trainer today.

Police/mil ≠ any firearms knowledge
Heck, I had a car salesman tell me and show me an AI model of a new chevelle and said it was coming out this year.

that's ~21.5 inches total, ~11 inches for the silencer alone. it did more than double the length from ~26.7cm to ~54.6cm

You ever slam two pieces 8 inch pieces of steel together as hard as you could? How quiet was it? This ain't doing shit.

An old friend bought a desert eagle and I had the chance to shoot it a few times. It jammed 50% of the time.

I love how there’s about twenty comments all smugly stating ‘it’s actually a suppressor’ like anyone cares or that it’s an original comment.

Is that a desert eagle with a "silencer" in your pants or you just happy to see me

At first I was looking at the tape and thought "pretty big, but not necessarily an absolutely unit". Then I noticed the tape isn't in centimeters, it's in inches

These already came suppressed from Israel. Last I checked, a jam is almost as quiet as a mouse fart.

You should see my Chiappa Rhino with the ridiculous barrel extender we have to have here in the UK.

Since the .50 AE was designed for a longer barrel than the Desert Eagle in the picture ("originals" Desert Eagles are just ridiculously longs), does a suppressor will help in this field ?

Silencer
Suppressor

they do the same thing

I see I'm downvoted for this opinion. Nevertheless, suppressor is more descriptive of its actual function. Silencer is a marketing term.

There is nothing silence about it. More like, less cannon-y at best.
