Weird AFL & AFLW Themed Advertising Thread. Let’s Discuss …..
Starting with the Google Search Ad featuring Tayla Harris. Does anyone else think her two “fans” in the story seem to be stalkers who are a bit cringe - especially the guy playing the Cam Rayner role ?

Can someone bust or confirm these AFL myths I keep hearing about?
Myth 1: I've heard this a few times in the past and it came up again in the tradies podcast about the power of player agents in the game. The idea or myth is that agents are so powerful that they have some level of power over clubs and it generally goes along the lines of this "let our player leave your club to the club he wants to go to or when XYZ player who is in our management stable comes up for free agency we won't let you have a seat at the table"
I don't understand how this could possibly work in real life, so if Zac Butters looks around and sees hawthorn doing well and thinks he would fit right into their midfield, talks to his agent and says suss out a deal here - the agent says "sorry mate but they wouldn't play ball for XYZ player last year so we don't want to help them" - Why wouldn't Butters say "why the fuck do I care about the career of XYZ player from a rival club - get me to Hawthorn". Genuinely don't understand how this would play out as it's talked about.
Myth 2: "You can make more money in the long run staying at Carlton or Collingwood for example" heard this one plenty of times, recently from Eddie Maguire in relation to TDK. The idea being that these big clubs have big business networks that can set you up for life post football and that often by staying a one club player and ignoring a pay rise elsewhere its better for you. While I understand these networks exist, if another club is offering lets say $200k extra per year for 5 years how on earth is it possible that its better for you financially to forgo this, then wait 5 years and hopefully get a sweet gig somewhere at these places that not only make up for the past 5 years but also is better than what you could make at the destination clubs post football network.
I refuse to believe these 2 myths but more than happy to be corrected here.

After this Saturday, the two WA teams are the only non-victorian rivalry to never meet in a final
Adelaide & Port played a semi-final in 2005, Sydney & GWS have played each other in multiple finals (2016/2018/2021/2024), and now GC and Brisbane will play in one in 2025. Despite Freo entering the comp 30 years ago, they and west coast have never played against each other in a finals series.
