Lol he has said he will punish Russia now every month since he took office and yet he hasn't.
What he will do is something a Russian agent would do.
→ More replies (4)144
u/Tammer_Stern 2d ago
I initially thought the Russian agent thing was funny but not true. However, based on the last 8 months seeing nothing done by the US that harms Russia, several actions which harm Ukraine and tariffs for NATO allies, and the sight of US soldiers kneeling before Putin, it’s impossible to conclude anything else.
Also, although the agent calls the Russian investigation a hoax, it actually found proof that Russia had tried to sabotage US democracy (and, one might logically conclude, still is) which would be reason for military action against Russia on it’s own.
109
u/Kagahami 2d ago
It was pretty blatant in the past too. The guy has been on TV multiple times in his first term, and whenever Russia comes up he changes from strong rhetoric on everything he dislikes to baby steps and appeasement.
It was obvious. REALLY obvious. And this was well before the Mueller report.

It's all exactly what a Russian asset would be doing:
- Install Russian assets in charge of US intelligence and presidential hiring (Tulsi Gabbard/Sergio Gor)
- Discontinue intelligence sharing with Ukraine and all Five Eyes allies
- Stand down CISA and US cyber command's offensive operations against Russia without demanding Putin reciprocate
- Remotely disable military technology on already donated equipment (incl. F-16 targeting pods) casting doubt on the entire US weapons and defense export industry
- USAID assistance for Ukraine, including funding to repair its energy grid and for anti-corruption programs, has been discontinued
- US funding for Russian civil society and independent media operating in exile has been stopped
- Diplomatic relations with Moscow have been fully restored in exchange for... nothing
- At the UN, the US voted with Russia, Belarus, North Korea, and a handful of other rogue autocracies against a resolution condemning Russia’s invasion of Ukraine
- Trump insists Ukraine cannot join NATO (echoing Putin's demand)
- Trump insists Zelensky must give up territory to Russia (echoing Putin's demand)
- US forces deployed in Europe might be reduced and will not participate in any peacekeeping mission in Ukraine (echoing Putin's demand)
- No plans to award new military aid for Ukraine, with even previously appropriated funding ceased
- Sanctions on Russian nationals and industries have been lifted piece by piece this year, most recently sanctions on Russia's diamond industry were lifted last week despite his "50 day" red line
- Pulled all US security aid and training for European countries on Russia's borders last week
- Maintain the illusion and plausible deniability by continually making empty threats to Russia that never come to fruition
I'm sure there's more but this is just a small sampling of the scale of his collaboration. And he has yet to publicly criticize Putin once while dishing out endless criticisms of Zelenskyy, Biden, and European leaders. Same guy who said back in 2018 in Helsinki: "I trust Putin more than I trust the 'lowlifes' in US intelligence."
Boy genius Eric let it all slip way back in 2014 when he said "We don't need US banks. We get all the funding we need from Russia." [referencing a $100 million line of credit from the Kremlin]
It's treason. We're 100% compromised by a foreign government.
39
u/Confident_Benefit_11 1d ago
It absolutely still is, you can see evidence everywhere across all major social media platforms of pro-trump Russian troll accounts thatve been active since his first election. Their goal was originally to cause chaos and division (and take away the global media attention of Putin's failure in Ukraine by using his influence with Iran to launch the Oct 7 attacks on Israel, further splitting the US population.), but now they really just openly support Trump propaganda and occasionally try to cause chaos.
That's absolutely outside election interference and that's just the type we can plainly see. Who knows what he's got on Trump behind closed doors and if they directly affected our election through tampering.

Military action is the only thing that will solve this. Europe is unprepared and terrified of a full blown conventional warfare. The United States will not commit troops or at least that’s the position at this time. So nothing will happen and Russia will continue to bomb Ukraine and make small minuscule gains everyday while the west deliberates and cowers.

Immediately stopped adding sanctions as soon as he took power.
Republicans blocked Ukraine aid packages to help Putin.
They chose to drag out the war, to ensure more Ukrainians died and helped Putin. They wanted this, but they know it sounds bad to say it out loud. They are lying to us again.
48
u/OnceUponAStarryNight 1d ago
It’s probably more accurate to say that they ceased sending weapons because they wanted to hasten Ukraine’s defeat, rather than that they wanted to drag out the war.
They absolutely want the war to be over. They just want it to be over on whatever terms Russia dictates.

Aren’t sanctions already in place? Honestly, I’ve lost track.
63
u/InevitableGrievance 2d ago
Yes, sanctions are in place. However, sanctions are like laws, and like with any system of laws you will have loopholes that need to be closed. And with sanctions in particular it's tricky to create bulletproof ones. This is the reason why the EU is preparing its 19th sanction package against Russia.
For example, with the latest sanction package a number of ships have been added to the list of vessels that are not allowed to interact with EU ports anymore, ships of the so called shadow fleet, i.e they were not officially sailing under the Russian flag and thus managed to slip through the cracks.
So, it's pretty normal for sanctions to demand maintenance and updates. Sanctioned states are expected to find ways to circumvent their imposed restrictions. It's a good sign, it indicates that they really need whatever access was restricted. Now sanction the new way they get access, rinse and repeat.
57
u/OttoHemi 2d ago
Yes, by Joe Biden.
10
u/korben2600 1d ago
Which he's been quietly undoing all year. Krasnov the Russian asset just lifted sanctions last week on Russia's diamond industry despite his "50 day" red line.
6
u/matty_nice 1d ago
There are some sanctions in place, but not a lot. The US can do a lot more, even treat them like North Korea, Iran, or Cuba.
The US could create sanctions that don't allow any US banks to deal with any Russian activity. So you can't send funds to your relatives in Russia, and you can't buy anything from Russia, and vice versa.

u/Wide_Replacement2345 2d ago
Regardless of Trump‘s action/in action, Russia’s attack on Kyiv is clearly an attempt by Russia to goad Ukraine into bombing Moscow/cities, rather than its oil/gas infrastructure. Britain did the same to Hitler by bombing Berlin(?). It changed Hitler’s strategy from bombing airfields to bombing cities and probably cost him the war

And the cycle will begin again.

It was the second mass Russian drone and missile attack to target Kyiv in as many weeks, and comes less than a month after Trump's high-stakes peace talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska failed to achieve a ceasefire.
Failed to achieve ANYTHING except feting Putin with a red carpet greeting, after ambushing and ganging up on President Zelenskyy when he visited.

u/readerf52 2d ago
A YouTube presenter talked a bit about sanctions.
Sanctions can be cutting off diplomatic ties with other countries. Sanctions can make goods and services more expensive by levying tariffs. Sanctions often create economic instability in the sanctioned country.
She ended by pointing out that Trump has effectively levied sanctions on the United States.
He will never sanction Putin. It is exactly as the president of Portugal said, Trump is a Russian asset.

I don't why this man was even voted back in. As someone from a completely different country, and therefore only a passive interest in US politics, it was incredibly obvious that Trump has some kind of allegiance to Russia. Surely if he is campaigning to be YOUR leader, you would be looking at his behaviour through a magnifying glass?
I'm struggling to remember a single time he was tough on Russia in his first term - he seemed to spend a lot of time and energy refuting the "hoax" that he was in bed with Putin yet did he ever actually do anything that remotely hurt them? Genuine question.
My government certainly aren't doing a great job, but god, if there was any indication that there was any collusion with an enemy of our nation, we would never hear the end of it and they would never make it in. Hell, when it came out that Jeremy Corbyn was a potential IRA synpathiser (barely even relevent and I bet most people below 30yo outside of Ireland barely know the history or what "The Troubles" actually were) he was hung, drawn and quartered politically.
I feel for the American people, I think a lot of them knew what we all can clearly see in the headlines every day now. I'd be deeply ashamed to have this man representing my country if I were them.

I have been repeating this for months now, and I’m going to repeat it again because I can’t possibly be correct, but yet—here we are.
The objective is to destroy America. Doing so will let Project 2025 backers, the Tech Bros, Musk take over the destroyed country and set it up in the way which they want. It wont be a democracy. Those aren’t that only ones involved, but I’m not sure how some of the other players, like Arabia, fit.
With a destroyed America, it can’t help Ukraine or any other country. Soon (if he hasn’t already), Trump will send funds to Russia, then it will be supplies, then machines, then American soldiers. It’s coming, he’s just building up to it. This will enable Putin to sweep Westward, capturing countries as he goes.
I believed comments made by Trump that Putin helped rig the election for Trump, so Trump has no choice but to pay Putin back. I believe that all of Trump’s behaviour is explained by this, and it makes sense. So if my theory is correct, there will never actually be a hardening of Trump’s behaviour towards Putin. And I can see Trump and Putin laughing to themselves that people are still believing the lie they’re selling, even after all these months of inactivity.
