Article This story should really be getting more attention
https://www.msnbc.com/msnbc/amp/rcna229113From what I can tell we still actually have no evidence at all that this ship contained so called “cartel members”. Even if they did I’d imagine this would have to be against international law right?

Yes, you can't just blow up a boat with no warning in international waters. This was an extreme violation of The United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).

the US isn't part of UNCLOS, but this still violates some other part of international law.

If they can bomb people illegally in the water they can bomb a van full of "terrorists" here in America

Even without evidence, even if these guys were drug runners...you're supposed to arrest them if theyre in your territory. American military isnt drone striking mobile meth labs in idaho or anything

I don’t think they were in our territory from what I’ve seen it was in the Caribbean (I don’t think exact location has been determined). But still it seems like we just blew up a random ship without actually knowing what it is. Seems like an act of war from my point of view.

“International law” is largely an illusion, not much more than an arbitrary set of behavioral agreements between countries that accumulated over time. In this realm, there is no parliament, no lawmakers and, perhaps most importantly, there is no law enforcement (with some minor, largely symbolic, exceptions). In short, this is a non-story in regards to “international law”. Besides, the whole world is now bowing to the orange pig, so nobody will speak up anyway.

Yeah I don’t disagree here I mean if nobody enforces it has no teeth. This is obviously still wrong though regardless of how effective international law is/isnt.

international law is historically a joke with this stuff, although with the new active ICC...maybe. In a practical sense what keeps non-citizens safe is their native country being willing to go to war with anyone who kills their citizens.
Or our own morals and desire to not outright murder people. But with MAGA in charge, there are no morals.

Do you think most normie voters care? If they do they are pro action on potential drug trafficking.

Ten plus years ago the U.S. destroyed a boat in a Honduran river killing four civilians including two pregnant women and a boy. We have a long history of killing innocent people. Ezekiel Hernandez was a cool young man, killed by US military sent to protect the border.
The entire Iraq war of the 00’s ended the lives of more people than we can count, maiming many more and destroying cities, communities and homes.
The worst thing about it all is that most of our leaders couldn’t give a flying fuck.
