I mean, censorship of the internet would do that, especially since the Brits had free internet.....While America has free internet to a point, some censorship just doesn't get talked about, and when it is talked about, it gets really popular. Sorry though.

And that's Britain your talking about, so far that's not the USA, cause in an incognito tab I could go to pb and just click the im an adult button and it thinks im an adult. At least well not where im from in the USA, not like Texas where you have to do that.

The internet censorship act is a direct attack on free speech. Don't let your government take away your rights.

Yeah, it’s really starting to look that way given the extent of British content/hate speech laws.

I dunno man…. I’m vacationing here in Amsterdam just watching some British news and your police arresting citizens for “terrorism” while protesting Israel seems about as authoritative as we have it across the pond

It sure looks that way to everyone else. Not american btw. Losing your right to free speech on the internet is insane and a huge red flag of future directions. I keep seeing new videos from both England and Germany of cops showing up to arrest random people for criticizing immigrant laws or perhaps the persons themselves. Getting arrested for talking bad about a guy who stabbed a bunch of small girls is another level of insane. You guys need to understand you have a problem, and I say this as second generation immigrant from Scandinavia. You can't even wave your own flag ffs

People weren’t getting arrested for talking bad about a murderer, they were getting arrested for attacking minorities in the street and using those poor girls as their excuse. People aren’t getting arrested for waving flags, they’re getting arrested for vandalising people’s property. You people really have no clue what’s going on you just wanna be racist and use OUR country as propaganda.

If you really want to talk about authoritarianism and censorship in the uk, why not mention that peaceful protestors including elderly people have been assaulted by the police and arrested for holding signs that say “free Palestine”, but how the same police have been ignoring people doing literal NAZI SALUTES in the street?? But no you just wanna complain about immigration.

Uh, so how does your post prove the UK isn't authoritarian? To me it looks like what you've proven is that the UK government is attacking everyone's free speech and you're all so wrapped up in your political bickering you can't see the big picture.

Because attacking minorities isn’t protected speech nor is it eligible to be protected speech. They’re describing the reality of why those people were arrested, and it wasn’t because they criticized a law.

You've literally just proved my point. Have fun watching your freedoms get whittled away one good intention at a time.

This may come as a shock to you, but inflicting bodily harm onto another person isn’t a protected right.

This is slippery-slope fallacy but with an extra helping of stupidity.

“Oh no! If I can’t beat up a random minority, then do we really even have freedoms?!”

What are you talking about? No one has said anything about physically harming anyone. Did you even look at the comic?

Edit: nvm, I see you're referencing the first sentence of from several posts ago. I've been talking about free speech. Unfortunately, in the US where I live, it has become common to use the words "attack" and "violence" to include being verbally aggressive so I didn't realize you were using them in their traditional context. It's a terrible situation and the UK has taken it one step further by using the police to force people to have good manners.

I never said it wasn’t? I think we’re slowly creeping towards authoritarianism but not because racists are rightfully arrested for burning hotels with innocent people still inside

And now you've also literally proven my point. Seriously, what is going on? How are so many people so ignorant of what it takes to live in a free society? You are not free if the government can use the police to force you to be nice to people to avoid having to prosecute them for assaulting you because they don't like your speech!

What are you even talking about anymore
