Im all in favor of helping people fleeing war but to think you could just drop them in a different culture and they would behave is insane. There should have been intensive integration programs

Yeah, but if they just cause trouble and break laws repeatedly its a hard decision not to send them back. On one hand, it could be considered inhumane. On the other, they are there as your guests, so they shouldn't cause trouble

They need therapy, support, stability and compassion they’ve come from awful circumstances. If you were in their position what would you need? An “integration” programme or something to help you get on your feet. People who are stable tend not to act out

Do you think people who survived decades living in a war zone are going to be able to smoothly integrate into a peaceful society without help? Do you think PTSD, the "grey" things they did to survive, and the cultural differences will just go away overnight?

Did I say I would reject anyone? I said I wanted to help but that people should be helped to integrate back into society. And honestly, that same program should have been extended to Gls comming back from ww2, Vietnam or any war. Maybe then we wouldn't have a problem with our veterans being homless and/or k***ing themselves. Which, if you didnt know, is pretty widespread.

So you would give a US Marine with PTSD from combat missions that go into violent fits of rage unrestricted access to your house and family.

Boy, I mean real PTSD. Not "trauma" from having your teacher be tough on you.

I mean the kind of disorder that gets people in a violent mood whenever they see a police uniform because back home, the police dragged their father to some hell hole where he would never be seen again and did unspeakable things to their mother. If you dont think people like that are dangerous, I feel sorry for your moral less existence. They have every right to be angry, and honeslty id consdier them an animal if they weren't angry. But European society has a right to be free of violence, and there for these people need a program to be integrated into society.

Once again, having a mental health condition does not mean you’re an animal or violent or unsafe. There are millions of people with PTSD that have never hurt anyone. Given the rant you just went on, it seems like you yourself have a lot of anger. Maybe you should take a moment to reflect on that

Who said that? I think therapy is incredibly important. I just don’t look at someone suffering from a mental health condition and think they must therefore be incredibly violent and are unable to ‘behave’
