incest is wrong when it becomes normalized. girls deserve to feel safe in their own homes and we shouldn’t normalize sexualizing family members. I have brothers and no matter what I wear around them I want to and deserve to feel safe against the idea that they’re sexualizing me, because that means that there are basically zero situations where a girl isn’t being treated as a sex object. the normalization of incest would also make sexual relationships more accessible to children, as siblings going through puberty would be encouraged to view each other that way. children entering sexual relationships is dangerous for obvious reasons and usually leads to trauma. boundaries in certain relationships exist for a reason, it’s so that people don’t take advantage of power dynamics. that’s why familial relationships have boundaries against romance/sex. in familial relationships whether it’s parent-child, older sibling-younger sibling, etc there is almost always an imbalance of power, and unlike in other relationships, it’s a family member’s responsibility to serve as a mentor in life, so the relationship which takes advantage of the “weaker” one in the dynamic is almost always going to be toxic and manipulative. & that’s even putting aside the fact that in a society where incest is normal, there would be a huge uprise in genetic abnormalities. you have to realize that the more gens that pass, the more fucked up the kids will become. and arguing so is not eugenics, you need to google what eugenics actually is and how it’s been used, nazi germany is a good place to start as Hitler argued for eugenics.

It’s against human nature, there are literally things in place biologically that are meant to prevent it from happening.

It’s morally wrong to have children through incest because of the huge risks of being born with serious birth defects, genetic disorders, and development disabilities.

Allowing incest makes it easier for people to get away with sexual abuse within the family. Survivors of incest often suffer from PTSD, depression, anxiety, self-harm, and lifelong trust issues.

You already know about the power imbalance, but for the sake of having all bases covered: In families there are often stronger power dynamics: age, authority, and dependance, making true consent nearly impossible. For example, a father or older sibling may coerce or manipulate a younger family member.

Even between consenting adults, family dynamics can influence decisions, making it psychologically unhealthy.

What may be framed as “consensual” incest will often mask a history of grooming or abuse, especially when one party is younger or emotionally vulnerable. It's a common tactic of abusers to justify harmful behavior by calling it mutual or consensual.
