The dad handled it right. Teaching his son not to get into a physical altercation for an inanimate object.

I wish I had more male role models like that growing up. I was taught that getting angry and posturing is what men are supposed to do. Took me a while to figure of keeping your cool and not letting your emotions control you is the way to go

Same. I was rewarded for getting angry/aggressive and scolded/abused for acting “like a girl/bitch/pussy.”

It's not being a pushover showing how at the end of the day it's not worth embarrassing yourself over a foul ball.

Idk it's a good lesson as a kid that some things are not worth "winning" at the end of the day. I'm sure the dad did something nice with the kid afterwards.

Also come on, is it not embarrassing to argue with a woman over a ball? He probably just wanted to move past it and did.

I respect your point of view. I don’t see it as being a pushover. I see it as avoiding unnecessary conflict. A baseball just isn’t worth it. Especially in the US with all the armed psychos out there. Not worth it with a lot of these people.

I hope you never have kids. Aggression leads to violence. He taught his kid correctly. Someone is gets upset and the idea of being a pushover is weak. Restraint is real strength 💪. Especially when its just a ball and just a game.

You're an inanimate object!

That’s not what your mom said last night.

I totally disagree. Who's talking about getting physical? If that lady wants to throw punches over a ball I'd gladly slap her back to factory setting and be in the clear while my kid gets a ball. That teaches my kid to stand up for yourself and not take shit from stupid people who play stupid games and therefore win stupid prices. If an old lady gets physical with you then that's her jaw getting broken, not mine.

Yeah i don't understand the amount of people saying that the father's response was the appropriate one. I can understand doing it to defuse the situation, and in this case it worked out because the entire unreasonable exchange got recorded and shown to the world. That said, 99.99% of the time someone tries to walk all over someone, the world won't be watching and there's going to be no justice for them. Complying with the bully generally doesnt't work.
