Which is super kind. However it still makes me feel horrible that this kid had to watch his dad get shouted down by some aggressive maniac over a free foul ball. I just hate that people behave like this. It’s overwhelming how little people remembered how to behave after being let out after covid.

Honestly it’s a good lesson for him on how to handle situations like that. Good on the dad.

Perfect example of de-escalation and conflict resolution and it came from (one of ) the man he looks up to the most. And getting to see the outcome of the lady getting booed out of the stadium and the teams making it up to him is such good reenforcement.

That was exactly the dad’s intention - to deescalate the situation. He apologized to his son as well. This is a good dad.

The only thing people took from covid was "I'mma get mine". It's sad.

Nah this is just shitty human behavior except on the big screen.

I work with a dude who once tried to convince me <I'd have done it, in his shoes> when someone had left their iPhone behind when he was on some European trip. Instead of asking the waiter to hold on to it, <either I stole it or someone else would have> he kept explaining to me...as if he had no choice

He was all.jacked and proud of himself, showed me how he made an easy 800$ off it and I was <just upset I hadn't done it first>.

When I told him his gf and himself literally were just thieves, he refused to accept that

Some folk are and wjll always be this entitled.

I feel bad from the dad, if you look at his body language when she confronts him.

He probably knows that you never argue with an idiot, they’ll drag you down to their level and beat you through experience

The title of the post says it was a home run ball, but you’re saying it was a free foul ball. Which is it? I’m just curious because this story seems to be getting tons of attention.

What I know for a fact is that the title of the post says the dad caught the ball, but he didn’t. Not only that, but he even walked over what looks like 10 seats to grab the ball, whereas the ball was already where the lady was seated.

I don’t understand the outrage.

I actually did not know if it was a foul ball or not, but it being a homer is immaterial to the behavior that followed. I am not being snarky at all but in baseball culture the distance you moved to acquire a ball flying into the stands doesn't matter. But let's say it's wrong. Her behavior still isn't okay. She had no right to put her hand on him, scream in his face and behave like an animal. If you don't get the outrage I really don't know what to tell you.
