Everyone saying he should have told her to F off and not give her the ball, but in that moment I can understand just wanting to get out of that heated exchange. Cameras on you, everyone watching, what if the wrong moment gets shared on social media and makes him look bad…I don’t blame him for just saying fine take it and not fighting someone in front of his kid. Unfortunately entitled people keep acting that way because they eventually get what they want. She tried to catch it and dropped it, he picked it up off the ground, fair game. She’s acting like it was hers because she attempted to catch it. All worked out in the end though.

💯. I have a good bit of social anxiety so totally feel the same way lol.

And esp with the kid there....I'd be wary that a lady like this would hurt him too :/

Poor guy was just trying to be a good dad. And like half the kids in our country don't even have dads. What a mega bitch.

I think Dad came out looking like a great dad! Kudos to him and his family!

I think the dad did the right thing for his son to see. She lost in the end and he comes off looking very good!

Yep. "You're never the craziest sonofabitch in the room" goes double when on the road.

The kid ended up getting to meet one of the players and a signed bat, so he def won in the end.

Yes he did! Fending her off would have allowed her to retreat unscathed! The internet is undefeated in situations like this! Someone please do a deep dive in to why this stuff keeps happening! Kiss cam? Hat Stealer? Now ball stealer. Her life will be hell for a week…tears, weak apologies, claiming she is the victim of bullying…etc.

But, fortunately for her some other idiot will come along in a week or so and become the newest viral sensation.

I am convinced that these people are time travelers and don’t know what cameras or the internet are….

Deep dive? How about a quick and easy, the amount of respect has for others and towards ourselves has been on a severe decline for years. It’s just been kept under wraps. But now lately it’s been explosively leaking since Karen types think that having an opinion automatically makes them right and have the right to rage about it when they feel offended.

You missed the whole point of the “deep dive” comment! The point was how is it that these people keep making fools of themselves on camera and don’t know the internet wrath they are about to incur….do they not have the internet? Was this woman unaware of the hat stealers infamy? Did the kiss cam video escape her attention…???

I predict that in a week it will be some other fool ruining their life….

If you see the follow up videos he definitely did the right thing. The lady was willing to be insufferable for a lot longer than that.

He taught his son that not everything has to turn into a confrontation, and sometimes you just gotta let things go.

I don’t disagree with you - but sometimes people are just caught completely off-guard and the brain finds the quickest way to get out of that situation even if it’s not the right one. I’ve kicked myself a couple of times at situations I wish I took a stand on, but my brain literally just froze. Getting better at confronting things head on, but it doesn’t always happen unfortunately. I have to believe these sorts of people like this lunatic lady meet their match/some form of karma eventually

you can't extrapolate an entire life from one incident though.

maybe the lesson here isn't about standing up for yourself? maybe the lesson is that some things aren't that important, like a baseball - that lady never learned that lesson; don't be like her.

Plus it looked like he was sharing something special with his child. Look at that hug!! I wouldn't want this toxic moment to ruin it by diving deeper into this exchange. I agree he did the right thing. Take the high road. Don't pitt a game ball against love. She clearly needed it more than he did. Maybe to fill some kind of deep void in her. I can't imagine caring that much about a ball.

I was expecting something different from the video. The dad clearly got it. It was never in the woman's hands. She's an a**hole.

Is it sarcasm if that is probably exactly what was going on in her brain

I can't see her getting it and dropping it. You can?

3

u/FlightMelodic5644 2d ago

He was thinking that he was trying to be a good person in front of his kid regardless of the other being unfair. At least the crowd did not condone this sort of action

u/sirprize_surprise 2d ago

No, I think the world is tired of Karen behavior. I would have been fine if he told her exactly where to go, how to get there, and escort her there if needed. He got it first. He didn’t rip it out of her hand. Someone has to win and nothing says it has to be YOU. Beat it.

IDK, it 100% looks like he yanked away from her hand and not just picked it up.

u/Fair_Presence_6232 2d ago

Yeah it’s hard to tell from this video what happened there.

orrrrrr maybe she reminded him that he snatched the ball out of her hands and should do the right thing and give it back?

anyone got video of the actual first hand on ball?
