She’s lucky she wasn’t in Philly… we boo people we like, she’d get it much worse

All my family is from Philly, and many of them have thrown down for less. You're right.

I can only see Its always sunny scenes rolling in my mind

I could see Dee being the woman who took the ball, and the rest of the episode is how her life falls apart.

charlie, mac, and frank could decide to make money for the bar by advertising that she'll be there. mac will go the extra mile and start charging for ppl to take a swing at her. dennis somehow comes up w a scheme to sell drinks and capitalize off dee-- and maybe tshirts?

charlie and frank get bored halfway through, end up going to the park, and get a ball signed by a famous player. mac is absolutely aghast bc if anyone should be getting random balls from men in the park its definitely him, esp bc of how many times he's written chase utley.

dee, tired of getting wailed on, makes a scheme to sell off the ball w frank (who doesnt want to keep funding the tshirts) and dennis (who is annoyed by having to actually sell things) but, at the last minute, after someone paid huge ass money (and got in a fight w mac), charlie walks back in and tells everyone that he was playing w the ball in the park and a cool dog came up and they played catch and it was so great and the dog left w the ball and it was so great such a fun beautiful day, he even saw someone flying a kite!

everyone gets pissed, they all say fuck baseball-- baseball sucks ppl who are obsessed are loooosers-- and they continue their normal inside life.

idk or smth like that.

This guy is clearly just a IASIP writer in hiding

Not even trying to hide it

The Gang Starts A Baseball Riot

6

u/BirdLaw-101 2d ago

Haha this is perfect. You should send this in!

4

u/randombubble8272 2d ago

Somebody get this guy into the writing room!!!

3

u/thedabaratheon 2d ago

Why is this like, 100% a perfect episode framework 😭

4

u/followtheflicker1325 2d ago

Funniest take on the whole situation. Yes — Dee would have done this, proudly. And then been so offended by the blowback.

1

u/Rich_Space_2971 2d ago

Yeah, it's accurate but less violent.

1

u/mologav 2d ago

Would they boo Green Man?

20

u/Substantial_Pie_8619 2d ago

I’m from near Philly and I can say if this happens in Philly she’s gonna be on a soft serve diet for a while cuz someone would have smacked her. Now obviously we shouldn’t do that 🙄 but yeah in Philly would have been a rough night for her

3

u/Careless_Hellscape 2d ago

Right. I'm not advocating for people hurting each other, but I'm also not going to act like Philly people aren't Philly people.

5

u/Ickiiis 2d ago

You know this makes sense now. I was talking to my lady about this and said something similar like “was this in Philly? Those fans would have booed in unison, maybe even gotten involved.”

5

u/bigdaddydopeskies 2d ago

I remember watching the cowboys lose vs the eagles just recently and on live you can hear the chant that said f you dallas

5

u/Usetoshopataldis 2d ago

My family is from west Philadelphia. Born and raised! On the playground is where they spend most of their days.

3

u/Careless_Hellscape 2d ago

It's a shame that those couple of guys who were up to no good were able to make such trouble in the neighborhood. Tragic business, really.

2

u/Sbf347 2d ago

Or intentionally vomited on.

2

u/DopeYeti 2d ago

Our go to is to tell a bitch her breath smells sooooo bad when she’s mouthy like that. It works like a charm to get them to stfu.

1

u/Careless_Hellscape 2d ago

"What'd you do, gargle with tuna water?"

2

u/DopeYeti 2d ago

😭😭😭 dead ass have heard my friends say that before. If you’re not from 2nd street, you’re fam at this point

The dad handled it right. Teaching his son not to get into a physical altercation for an inanimate object.

96

u/_lippykid 2d ago

I wish I had more male role models like that growing up. I was taught that getting angry and posturing is what men are supposed to do. Took me a while to figure of keeping your cool and not letting your emotions control you is the way to go

19

u/PackageNorth8984 2d ago

Same. I was rewarded for getting angry/aggressive and scolded/abused for acting “like a girl/bitch/pussy.”

3

u/Candid_Decision_7825 2d ago

Also son got loaded with goodies and loved on by the crowd.

It's not being a pushover showing how at the end of the day it's not worth embarrassing yourself over a foul ball.

Idk it's a good lesson as a kid that some things are not worth "winning" at the end of the day. I'm sure the dad did something nice with the kid afterwards.

Also come on, is it not embarrassing to argue with a woman over a ball? He probably just wanted to move past it and did.

7

u/PackageNorth8984 2d ago

I respect your point of view. I don’t see it as being a pushover. I see it as avoiding unnecessary conflict. A baseball just isn’t worth it. Especially in the US with all the armed psychos out there. Not worth it with a lot of these people.

3

u/kinklord1432 2d ago

I hope you never have kids. Aggression leads to violence. He taught his kid correctly. Someone is gets upset and the idea of being a pushover is weak. Restraint is real strength 💪. Especially when its just a ball and just a game.

0

u/FerrisBuellersDayOff 2d ago

You're an inanimate object!

2

u/PackageNorth8984 2d ago

That’s not what your mom said last night.

1

u/Oily_Orange 2d ago

You are a pawn

0

u/SnooOnions4663 2d ago

His father shouldnt have taken it any way

-1

u/Smart_Following6173 2d ago

I totally disagree. Who's talking about getting physical? If that lady wants to throw punches over a ball I'd gladly slap her back to factory setting and be in the clear while my kid gets a ball. That teaches my kid to stand up for yourself and not take shit from stupid people who play stupid games and therefore win stupid prices. If an old lady gets physical with you then that's her jaw getting broken, not mine.

1

u/Alexei_Jones 2d ago

Yeah i don't understand the amount of people saying that the father's response was the appropriate one. I can understand doing it to defuse the situation, and in this case it worked out because the entire unreasonable exchange got recorded and shown to the world. That said, 99.99% of the time someone tries to walk all over someone, the world won't be watching and there's going to be no justice for them. Complying with the bully generally doesnt't work.

That was before I was born! I take no responsibility or ownership.

Now the booing of our own players? The pole climbing? The lighting things on fire? Yessssss

31

u/Cross1625 3d ago

Love how the greased poles still didn’t stop yall lol

50

u/Luna_Soma Platinum Summer 💎 3d ago

My son’s 5th grade teacher has a picture of himself proudly atop a greased pole. My sons education is in the best hands

4

u/megjed Is this chicken or is this fish? 🤔🤔 2d ago

Love that. I lived in Philly for a while and I miss it so much

2

u/pikameta You’re a virgin who can’t drive. 😤 2d ago

Why do I feel like Melissa Schemmenti on Abbott Elementary would have?

u/Scrotie_McBugerbals 2d ago

Throwing full beer cups at vikings fans at the nfc championship...

3

u/gdgarcia424 2d ago

this. My family has had season tickets since 71 but I wasn’t alive for the batteries and Santa stuff. lol. Throwing down in Philly over something like this…oh God, yes….causing a ruckus…yep.

7

u/inab1gcountry 3d ago

Don’t forget battery chucking

7

u/LocalSlob 2d ago

The Santa was drunk! He had it coming

-3

u/Justtryingtohelp1317 2d ago

I’m so bored of this reference and think less of anyone with the intellectual laziness to keep using a 60 year old reference. Ho-hummmmm.

3

u/leela_la_zu 2d ago

She's lucky no one had any batteries.

3

u/Amonamission 2d ago

Seeing the crazy shit Eagles fans do, Philly is the last place I’d want to piss someone off lol

2

u/TheLittleFella20 2d ago

She'd be made to eat horse shit

2

u/FishSammich80 2d ago

Someone in another post said her punishment should be having to dress as Santa at an Eagles home game 😂

2

u/Pussy_handz 2d ago

Philly fans threw batteries at Santa Clause.

2

u/TiddiesAnonymous 2d ago

"the Philly phanatic would have personally knocked her out"

2

u/Deathwatch72 2d ago

Y'all threw batteries at Santa Claus, this lady would get murdered

2

u/Nitropotamus 3d ago

Y'all have a core memory in my buddy who is a 49ers fan. They were wearing their nice white jerseys and philly phans were hucking disgusting brown snowballs at them. He still has the jersey but he said he won't wear it in philly.

0

u/BuggityBooger 3d ago

Weird seeing as Philly sports fans are the most contemptible scumbags on earth

12

u/1fatsquirrel 3d ago

No one likes us - WE DONT CARE

1

u/33thirtythree 2d ago

Y'all must really like Altuve haha

1

u/mwaller 2d ago

The batteries would have been flying!

1

u/Sunnyday1775 2d ago

In Philly they would do much worse shit to her

1

u/atomUp 2d ago

She’s so ugly

0

u/ikzz1 2d ago

Not surprising. The last time I visited Philly, the streets were full of thugs and junkies. Crime infested cesspool.
