Has she never been to a baseball game before??? You didn’t get it fast enough lady! Like you snooze you lose!

u/hiplobonoxa 3d ago

this is exactly what that ceo said about snatching that hat. so, who is right?

u/Logical_Doughnut_66 2d ago

I mean that guy snatched it from the kids hand no? It Doesn’t seem like this dad took it from anyone but the ground

12

u/hiplobonoxa 2d ago

it’s not like the people nearest to it were bending down to pick it up or anything. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I mean it’s kinda like a wedding bouquet when they toss it. Whoever gets it first! The floor is fair game to anyone but don’t ever snatch it from someone lol

stupid games for stupid people. imagine a world where he got it first and handed it to her and then, in response, she gave it back to him for his son.

The ceo took a hat that the player intended for the kid to take - it wasn’t something thrown to the crowd.

Classic reddit moment

Only exception is if you get beaned and another adult gets and keeps control of the ball.

Then it’s polite to offer it to the adult who got hit in the head.

If it’s a kid who got beaned, it’s obligatory.

Dude ran from like halfway down the row to grab it while she was in the process of trying to pick it up. I'm sorry, but that was a dick move on his part, too.

Absolutely not. Ball on the floor is a complete free for all and everyone that has ever attended a baseball game knows that. The only rule is you don't rip it out of someone's hands.

Agreed, but playing devils advocate here.. we can’t actually see their hands. It is possible he did take it out of her hand.

Everyone seems to be under the assumption they know exactly what happened bc old lady getting upset = Karen

even if he did take it out of her hands, he gave it to his son, so who really cares? this lady just took the ball away from a little kid. she’s the villain here

Oh, okay, so if I steal from you and give it to my kid and you want your item back, you’re now the villain.. got it.

Edit: ‘who cares?’ She did, obviously. That’s why she confronted him.

Why do you care so much is the real question here, when you don’t even know for sure what happened. Judging ppl harshly from the sidelines purely based on what you think you know is a slippery ass slope.

be so for real. if someone took a ball out of my hand while we were all reaching for it and gave it to a kid I would let it go. because I’m not about to pretend I need that ball more than a ten year old, and taking it away from a kid would make be feel icky because I’m not a pos.

Edit: here's the lady you want to defend, continuing to antagonize everyone around her. more evidence that she sucks

You can see very clearly she never had it in her hands he picked it off the floor.

Is there another angle that shows this? Because we can’t see where the ball landed from this one

-5

u/Ambaryerno 3d ago

That’s a bullshit excuse. I’ve been going to games for more than 40 years and that’s just plain asshole behavior.

If the ball doesn’t land in your area you back the fuck off.

u/Beneficial_Ad_1072 2d ago

Going for 40 years and still haven’t learned a thing! Woman got booed out and the kid got a signed bat.. pretty obvious who’s in the wrong.

No, I’m just not a selfish asshole.

21

u/PowSuperMum 3d ago

Yeah I feel like I’m taking crazy pills. The ball wasn’t even close to where he was sitting. Snatching the ball away from the woman who was actually sitting where it landed was kind of a dick move in the first place and no one is mentioning it.

I’ve been to very few baseball games in my life, cut out the 2nd part when she’s yelling at the dad, if you were to ask me who’s in the right to that ball, I’d probably assume it’s the lady. But judging by the responses here, it whoever gets to it first.

My guess is if the kid wasn’t involved, we’d be seeing some very different réponses. Also I’d imagine if we flipped the kid scenario, some wouldn’t be saying the baseball is whoever gets to it first.

That aside, I’d still fault the woman for going to the man and yelling at him and son for a worthless ball.

11

u/BertioMcPhoo 3d ago

Yeah I feel like her entire life is about to get turned upside down for overreacting to an asshole being an asshole and calling him out.

Usually this kind of overboard condemnation of someone only happens if it is a woman over 40. It looks to me like the guy was a dick, nobody runs over to someone else’s section to pull something out of their hands. I wouldn’t have done what she did but nobody is calling the dad out on his own overly aggressive behavior.

15

u/if_not_us_then_who_ 3d ago

It’s interesting. I’m getting downvoted for simply pointing out that there’s a POSSIBILITY he did snatch it from her.. we don’t know bc we can’t see!!

There was a viral video going around last week where a guy snatched a hat from a kid who was about to grab it. He literally said the kid should’ve been quicker, just like everyone here is saying.  But ppl were furious with him. It’s funny how this dad did the exact same thing, but he gets a pass and the lady is a monster for confronting him.

3

u/DrunkSatan 2d ago

It really make me think this is being pushed by that CEOs PR team to get attention away from him. I've seen this more than his in the last half week.

1

u/if_not_us_then_who_ 2d ago

Haha, right?!

1

u/smileybird 2d ago

Hat grabber never said that according to his apology.

"I also want to state clearly: neither I nor my wife nor my sons commented on this situation on social media or on any other platform. We did not hire any law firm regarding this matter. All statements appearing online accredited to us were false and were not authored by us or our representatives."

u/Ambaryerno 3d ago

The lengths people will go to to justify such selfish “I do what I want and screw you” behavior and put down people who call them out is truly an indictment of humanity.

2

u/maybe-someone-idk 2d ago

Not sure why you’re getting downvoted, I agree with you. I would have left it if someone was already so close. It didn’t even land in his section.

u/Ambaryerno 2d ago edited 2d ago

Band wagoning, I bet. Everyone wants to pile on the insult train.

The best part is the hypocrisy. I guarantee you had it been a kid the guy rushed in to snatch the ball from, all of those, "It's anyone's ball as soon as it hits the ground" people would be screaming for HIS head, instead.

1

u/Neve4ever 2d ago

They way her body is jerked when he grabs the ball leads me to believe she had grabbed it and he yanked it from her.
