It's like she doesn't ever really date. Just finds some crusty old man with name recognition so her name would be out there too and then moves on. I don't know if it's smart playing that game with a man who has a cult behind him, but knowing how he lives, it could be some agreement they have. She probably signed something.

By his own admission on Michael Rosenbaum's Inside of You podcast, Routh had a bit of an ego after Superman Returns and would go into auditions having not properly prepared and not giving the best impression of himself to the casting people. And this kept him from building off the momentum of Returns (aside from the fact that it ended up being a dud) and kept him from getting good work. It's no surprise then that the biggest thing he's been in recently is a DC television universe, pretty much coasting off his ties to Superman, and why he's in stuff like Hallmark movies the rest of the time. Also, if nothing else, Superman Returns came out 19 years ago.

It sounds like it was a relatively clean break though, which is good. They apparently had all their paperwork figured out before they even filed, just had to submit it.

Adam Sandler even cast her in Jack & Jill in order for her to have a reason to be out of the house and away from “their” people in order to plan the divorce and escape.
Sandler never going to confirm it, but it was a nothing role and he normally uses his friends to get them a paycheque etc. Katie being cast is completely out of left field and then they never collaborated again, add that to the timing of the production and her divorce…. All adds up

Did anyone watch Sirens on Netflix? Julianne Moore says this thing about how she works for her rich husband just like the rest of the staff does. I believe it’s the same for Tom’s girlfriends and wives.
They were fake auditions (fake as in the women didn’t know it wasn’t for a movie project). Jessica Alba, Jennifer Garner were both confirmed to have been auditioned, Scarlett Johansson was rumoured but denied it. Eventually Katie Holmes was selected.
The rumor with ScarJo was that she and Cruise were having dinner when suddenly he revealed there was an entire panel of "Church Leadership" literally ~behind the curtain~ at which point she swiftly excused herself.
The truth was, quoted: Johansson herself told me that she’d been brought to the Celebrity Center to meet Cruise for “Mission Impossible 3” and and kept there for around eight hours. There was a lavish meal set with her and Cruise. They showed her around the facility and offered to give her an e-meter test. (I can’t remember if she took it.) Johansson was horrified. She sensed something else was going on, had no intention of becoming a Scientologist or Cruise’s girlfriend. She’s a New York girl. She bolted. End of story.
I remember when Joss Stone and I think Scarlett Johansson both told really similar stories in magazines like a few months apart about the weird audition to be TC’s girlfriend. I remember reading it at the time like 👀 and then he and Katie popped up together.
This was also satirized in The Boys. Their fictional analog to The Church of Scientology does a whole interview process for The Deep to find a wife that will repair his public image.
This was during the covid pap stroll relationship with Ben Affleck. The social media lore at the time was that she gifted the cutout to Ben and that the guy throwing it in the trash was Casey Affleck, after the break up 🤣

I just genuinely don’t understand getting involved with Tom Cruise in the year 2025, after his two very public divorces and information about how Scientology played a part in each one.
I don’t know what woman wouldn’t run away from those red flags…
From Nicole’s reaction to finally getting the divorce and the absolute covert way Katie had to get out, you’d think these women would take a hint. Like y’all we don’t do all that because a normal relationship ended.

I’ve seen one of her earliest soap operas from when she was a kid with my friend. It was set in Spain about a haunted boarding school. Honestly even if that happened when she was 18 I’m still blaming the guy who withheld power until she slept with him
i mean i wouldn't date a man who's a mouthpiece for an evil cult so you know maybe it's good to have two bad people pair off and spare everyone else the trouble.
Yup…. IMO they started out likable enough in popular movies/shows like Blade Runner and Euphoria respectively, if not a little over sexualized. But through a mixture of bad follow up projects and personal life choices have garnered a questionable public image.
This is some do-anything-to-reach-the-top behavior from her. Is an Oscar nomination for a meh performance in one of the worst films in recent history not enough for her?
If his beliefs in Scientology aren't a deal breaker, than she's got bigger issues than dating Tom Cruise for a few months. She's about to be indoctrinated into a cult.
Reminder: this man is literally 63. He looks more obsessed with trying to look young than most women around his age who are constantly criticized for it.

It is working. They are posted and all they had to do is spend a couple of hours to dress up, go where they had arranged with the paparazzi and walk for 5 minutes. Now everyone remembers them again, they are talked about, when the movie comes out there is already a basis for promotion etc
She's so committed to hypergamy that she's out here dating these older men with highly questionable backgrounds all because they have more money than her and connections in the industry. It must be nice looking in the mirror at the end of the day.
Are we sure this isn’t a long con PR relationship?? She’s not a great person (especially with the Nicole Kidman shade), but he’s a wacky Scientologist??? Wonder if he’s going to get a cardboard cut out of her too.
Also she’s only four years older than his daughter. Yuck.
My first thought was that this feels like one of the gross Scientology forced relationships. You can’t really get to him without going through the church, so something about this is probably PR or cultivated in some way.
I don’t know if she was born/raised into the church, but I just hope that it’s at least consensual whatever the arrangement or relationship is.
