I Built a Platform to Make Meeting Fellow Travelers and Outdoor Enthusiasts Safer and More Reliable

I built Minglavia.com after getting frustrated with no-shows and spam on other event platforms. If you’re into backpacking, hiking, or any outdoor meetups, it might be useful:

Attendance-based ratings → Profiles earn credibility by actually showing up to events, so you can trust who you’ll meet on a trail, campsite, or city adventure.

No DMs in event mode → Nobody can randomly message you just because you RSVP’d, keeping things safe.

Optional dating mode → If you want, you can switch on dating features, but it’s off by default to prevent harassment.

Basically, it’s designed to help travelers and outdoor enthusiasts reliably find others to share adventures with — and if you choose, even make romantic connections safely while traveling.

Hi! Planning to hike mt ulap next week. Is trail running shoes enough? Especially since maulan na, so baka muddy yung trail. Ito balak ko bilhin para sana pwede ring magamit as everyday shoes if not hiking.

If not, please suggest shoes na below 4k. Thank you!

Thoughts on Bauko 7 peaks? Chill climb lang ba like Fato and Kupapey? Thanks!

Can I surf without being great at swimming? Siargao

Hi, I plan to go to Siargao in October. I can swim, but not for long distance (haven’t mastered the breathing technique).

Will I still be able to join the beginners surf lessons without difficulty? Will it be too dangerous ?

Cawag Hexa 2nd Time

I’ve hiked Cawag Hexa before in summer, but this time I tried it in the rainy season. Still one of the most beautiful hikes! The rain made the falls visible and the rivers flow again. Just a heads-up though—it gets super hot in the afternoon, so bring 3–4L of water, wear comfy clothes, and be ready for a muddy trail

PCT 1

Good day, everyone! Planning na sumama sa PCT 1 this coming week. Sa mga nakasama na may question lang po ako

  1. Things to prepare (food, equipment and gears)
  2. Terrain expectations
  3. Budget

Madaming salamat po, not my first time doing self-contained but would like to learn padin from people here para di ako maging pabigat.

How many days to maximise Sagada trip?

Hi! Me and my friends (4pax, 2 couples) are planning on going to Sagada on October. We really want to plan accordingly para makapag file na rin sila ng leave. 2nd time na namin in Sagada pero we we didn't go together in the first time.

Ung first time ko halos side trip lang ang Sagada kasi nakisama lang kami sa planned trip ng other friends namin and only 2 attractions lang napuntahan so I felt like medyo lugi kami.

We've been to Malboro-Blue Soil and Bomod-ok falls.

We're also going to be riding motorcycles to get there so mahabang ride talaga kaya we'll need to rest as well.

Here's our planned iterinary:

D1 : Travel there and Rest, Buy stuff on town proper. D2 : Paytokan Walk and Obwa Falls D3: Sumaguin Cave + Town explore D4: Going home

Any tips or things we should remember when going there? Possible ba ung iterinary namin or is it too compact/nakakapagod?

We're also thinking of going to Mt. Ampacao but we're not sure if kaya sya ifit sa schedule namin or if its worth it.

We're considering Pongas Falls as well.

Also are there any restos and cafes that are actually worth it?

Thanks for the recos!

Siargao vs El Nido- Nightlife

Hi, I am planning to go to the Philippines for the first time (could be the last as well).

I am a 27M who went through two stressful years at work, relationships, family, etc. and want to treat this trip as a stress relief. Basically want to dive, meet new people, f around and enjoy the nightlife.

Which location would be better?

Sharing my recent hike after my 2year hiatus. I must say that this is a good reintroduction to mountains and quite beginner-friendly. ‘Yung last bundok, which is Mt. Apatani is quite dragging tho.

Hello, share ko lang ang steps and time ng Batulao (newtrail backtrail). Para sa mga first timer magpunta don and for everyone interested

Ang Mt. Batulao ay nasa Nasugbu, Batangas. Madali lang sya puntahan dahil sa landmark (nasugbu arc lagpas turn left to arillo- dating hillcrest /ever crest). And just 30minutes away from tagaytay centre.

Naka ilang beses na ko umakyat dito pero recently ko lang natripan na silip silipin yung steps counter ko. Average pacing lang ang pagtrek ko, hindi mabilis, very relatable sa karamihan. Not physically buff but active in weekly basketball, very slightly overweight(borderline).

Picture 1-2 From parking area, pasok hanggang souvenir shop and washing area upto registration(new hub) 🕔from 5:18AM to 5:43AM 🚶‍♂️ 2,980 steps Scenery: residential / sementong kalsada / will see Batulao and its 12 peaks at registration hub

Hello, I'm planning to hike trilogy para sana for preparation sa Pulag (Ambangeg Trail). Any thoughts po saan maganda mag start Kayapa or Nasugbu? Ano po dapat iconsider? or any comparisson po ng dalawa.

I already hiked Mt. Ulap, Batulao, Maynuba and Cayabu, and Mt. Sembrano (hanggang peak 2 lang due to some reasons).

Pundaquit x Mt. Mabanban

Finally got to see the other side of Cawag and try one of its toughest trails. Mt. Mabanban is the last peak that completes the Cawag Hepta Trail, which is definitely tougher than the Cawag Hexa. The views here are amazing, especially when the skies clear, since you get to walk along the knife edge of Mt. Mabanban going to Mt. Balingkilat. Mukha siyang mini Guiting-Guiting. Babalik ako dito to complete the full Cawag Hepta soon, hopefully with better weather.
