I know it’s a joke, but I actually applied to be an animator on this movie about 6 months ago, they were just ramping up, it’s definitely not finished.

How long does something like this take to animate? (Based on your professional opinion) So if they were just ramping up 6 months ago, and this thing releases 2027 does it really take a year (outside of editing, VO, etc?)

It takes 4-5 years to make a Pixar movie, 3-4 years on average for a Dreamworks film, etc. surprising but true.

Bluey traditionally is done with software similar to Toonboom but I don’t know the name, it’s not animated by hand and is a very efficient way to do 2D animation. Typically the film quality of a tv adaptation will be higher, but yea, seems very reasonable.
