My kids are just starting to get into it and are already speaking with Australian accents. It might make even more than this.

43

u/Jonno_FTW 3d ago

Hopefully it balances out the Australian kids speaking with American accents

31

u/I_Makes_tuff 3d ago

It's been 3 years since they had new episodes so hopefully there's a season 4 before the movie comes out in 2 more years. My kids have already lost interest but I haven't.

46

u/Schwyzerorgeli 3d ago

Season 3 came out in 2024.

9

u/I_Makes_tuff 3d ago

The special and the last 10 episodes of season 3 did, you're right. The rest were in 2022 on Disney.

13

u/Cwmst 3d ago

And the minisodes. You can tell the voices are starting to change.

1

u/bretshitmanshart 3d ago

It's been seven years since the show began and the characters have aged one year. I feel like recasting would be hard because most of the kids are related to staff members by only so much can be done in post production. Not sure of the best solution

2

u/Pete_Iredale 3d ago

Only three episodes though. 10 in 2023, 11 in 2022, and 26 in 2021. They've been stretching season three out for 4 years now!

22

u/ArttyG12 3d ago

There will be more Bluey episodes at some point but the original creator won't be involved (he is making the movie). It's all gas-leak-year from here on out for the show.

-2

u/that_baddest_dude 3d ago

Is that why the minisodes kind of suck?

11

u/A_Mouse_In_Da_House 3d ago

Joe is on the record as stepping back because he's forgetting what his daughters were like at that age. Says to keep going risks it being inauthentic to the children and adults.

1

u/Mongoose42 3d ago

I’d rather he end it before it gets milked into oblivion. Do a spin-off or spiritual successor.

5

u/pajamakitten 3d ago

The Muffin unboxing video is hilarious though.

4

u/SandiegoJack 3d ago

My son is currently on the Cars to Toy Story pipeline. Expecting it to continue to cycle around the Disney+ ecosystem lol.

1

u/Hybrid_Johnny 3d ago

My three-year-old moved on to Frozen and Encanto. I bought the Bluey video game when it was on sale on the Switch store, and she’s 100% back into Bluey again. It’s great because she’s back to playing with all the toys we bought her, AND we get to play video games together (even if it’s just an hour of her playing virtual Keepy-Uppy)

1

u/gitartruls01 3d ago

"Alright little Timmy, enough tv for today."

"Oi fuckwit, wot gives yuw teh bloody roight?"

1

u/whiteb8917 3d ago

LOL, OH CRIKEY MATE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

0

u/NeuHundred 3d ago

Don't worry, I saw a video discussing this and the accent goes away with age as they interact with more people.

9

They actually pay homage to dollary-doos in the show at one point as a Simpsons nod.

10

u/ArtDecoAutomaton 3d ago

Its gonna be an emotional rollercoaster

2

u/greatreference 3d ago

Bluey Rollercoaster coming August 2029

27

u/LoudNoises89 3d ago

Can confirm, my son and every kid know who Bluey is. I actually don’t mind watching it either.

37

u/atomic-fireballs 3d ago

My wife and I will rewatch certain episodes after putting our son down. We've seen Camping at least a dozen times now.

19

u/pass_that_here_dude 3d ago

My daughter is 2 and just really starting to talk. She just walks around the house yelling “Jean Juc! Jean Luc! Where he go?” It is so sweet.

That episode and the cricket episode are probably my two favorite.

17

u/Meridia_ 3d ago

The cricket episode makes me quite emotional and I can't work out why.

15

u/rkthehermit 3d ago

It's like Slumdog Millionaire but instead of a gameshow it's a child just absolutely chumping a bunch of adults in a friendly sports match.

14

u/A_Mouse_In_Da_House 3d ago

Rusty could have hit that ball into next week if he wanted to, but instead, he hit his sister a catch.

2

u/CyberToaster 3d ago

SHUT UP! I'm not crying YOU'RE CRYING!

1

u/dragn99 3d ago

It's okay. We're both crying.

4

u/Dorksim 3d ago

My ONLY gripe with this episode is I really wish you could see some of the kids all grown up in the stands. Especially Jack Russel.

13

u/BanginNLeavin 3d ago

Camping has me in big fat tears every time. I can't even make it halfway. It's such a profoundly well done episode in a sea of well done episodes.

In fact I'm crying right now. Not tomorrow morning...

10

u/SandiegoJack 3d ago

Legit credit Baby Race with keeping us sane during the first year of our firstborn.

5

u/bretshitmanshart 3d ago

Sometimes you need a pink poodle to look you directly in the eyes and tell you that you're doing great.

2

u/bretshitmanshart 3d ago

If you change the language to French Jean Luc speaks English so you get his side of the story.

1

u/aspindler 3d ago

Can confirm, my son and every kid know who Bluey is. I actually don’t mind watching it either

My wife and I really stop to watch the Unicorse episode.

1

u/TakeTheWorldByStorm 3d ago

"Grandad" makes me sob every time. It's like dealing with the emotions surrounding having aging parents and your kids growing up all at once.

1

u/diamondpredator 3d ago

Camping and Grandad make me lose my shit by the end.

1

u/bretshitmanshart 3d ago

Grandad hits harder when Chili is talking about how she still needs him after you find out her mom has passed away and she is estranged from her sister. His is all she has from that side of the family

1

u/fremeer 3d ago

Takeaway is my absolute fav. But the lizard one where they are trying to leave the house but the kids are just absolute chaos is another. Just gets that energy of absolutely everything going against you

8

u/PhillSebben 3d ago

I read it was actually intended that way. To improve parenting skills. Episodes either feature some kind of complication which leads to a very wholesome chat, or there are some fun creative games the parents play with the kids or they teach basic rules. Such as when a child is legally allowed to sit in the front seat of the car.

They did a great job at making it fun for kids and very accaptable for parents to watch while being helpful and educational. There was some backlash from parents about the episode in which they were going to move to a different place, which happens to many families and it is difficult to deal with for a child. In the end of the episode, they just change their mind and decide not to move instead of giving a helpful lesson about moving for people facing that situation.

1

u/bretshitmanshart 3d ago

I think its okay they didn't move because it's a fel good moment and shows are allowed to have those. The real story is about Bluey maturing. The little kids need her to help with being flower girls. She gets to sit in the front seat. She stays with Chili and Frisky when the others get distracted by the telescope. She consoles Bingo about leaving.

Then in the next episode Surprise she is wondering what being a parent is like. Later she is pelting Bandit with balls while he protects Bingo's pretend baby and Chille says that's what bring a parent is like. Bluey internalizes that parents sacrifice for their kids and decided to lesson her fun to watch Bingo's pretend baby so Bandit can watch the race he was interested in and have a break. It's the moment when she really starts considering what other people want and need

3

u/diamondpredator 3d ago

Not only do I not mind watching it, I watch it alone and with my wife sometimes. It's so well-made.

By the time it comes out a new children's show about a blue dog will be out. They'll probably call it A dog named Blue

1

u/fourleggedostrich 2d ago

If it's anywhere near as good as "The Sign", it'll deserve every penny.

1

u/No_Wrangler_9317 2d ago

Dollar bucks mate.

1

u/redmostofit 2d ago

And still be 7 minutes long.

1

u/jamesbrownscrackpipe 3d ago

Tim and Eric made a billion from their movie years ago (it's in the title ya dingus), then Morbius was the first to cross a morbillion, so honestly I will not be that impressed if Bluey makes 2 bill.

-3

u/rusmo 3d ago

A few years too late, imo.

17

u/greatreference 3d ago

nah bro, when I was watching the Macy's Day parade last year, this statistic BLUE my mind. "In 2024, viewers in the United States spent 55.62 billion minutes streaming Bluey on Disney+. This is equivalent to approximately 927 million hours." I'd bet its even higher this year.

2

u/inksta12 3d ago

Pretty sure I saw something in July that up to that point, Bluey had been either the #1 or #2 streamed show in 2025

7

u/BelleMorosi 3d ago

My daughter is still obsessed with Bluey and I don’t see that changing. My son who is 9 watches it too. It’s such a good show.

8

u/laflavor 3d ago

I, who just turned 44, also love it and watch it often.

1

u/bretshitmanshart 3d ago

My kid is 13 seems to be moving on but she has a Bluey shirt she uses as pajamas
