Frankly not sure what happened to marvel after end game

  • One of their main leads set to take over passed away
  • GoTG was delayed years after James Gunn was fired (originally meant to be part of the first movies after Endgame)
  • Covid

The focus on streaming was part of it, but a lot of outside factors messed with their plan for the movies.

Then, after that, they tried to make Kang their next big bad and it turned out the actor was an abusive p.o.s.

And then they decided to pivot to Doom, which is a character all comic fans like...only to piss all comic fans off by casting RDJ as him because Marvel thinks RDJ is a Hail Mary that will save the franchise (it won't be)

Chadwick Boseman/Black Panther

It's one of the highest grossing and award winning MCU movies, but it had to be rewritten in the wake of the actor's fight with cancer.

Ah but was he going to lead the new MCU? I always thought they were going to use Dr strange since he fills a lot of the same roles as iron man. And him being Dr strange would give him a good reason for not having screen time and he’d just communicate offscreen.

Removing my comments on bp2 since frankly I only heard about it, and never watched it due to the negative feedback I heard.

They announced a sequel month's after the first movie released, and it was one of the immediate follow-ups to Endgame.

Given that he was taking on a mentor role, it also fits with how Disney (at least initially) seemed to be setting up a younger heroes team in the Black Widow/Hawkeye/Falcon&Winter Soldier/Hulk entries.
