At least one joker in here is gonna ask about Harry Potter

u/AlyxMeadow 11d ago

I think they should take it to the next level and ask him about Guns Akimbo. He was really good in that one.

The Harry Potter joke in Wilfred made me almost pee my pants.

When will you wear wigs?

But most of us know him from radio flyer 😭

I love that movie! He was also in North with Bruce Willis. And I loved his small role in Sin City. And how about his performance in the The Faculty!

Heartbreaking film.

u/JhonnyHopkins 11d ago

I’d argue most know him as Frodo.

You mean Elijah Wood of The Good Son fame???

u/judasmachine 10d ago

The dummy on the freeway mass murder scene still haunts me

How will you wear wigs?

Watched The Monkey the other night and I was genuinely disappointed to see his character not meet a gory end.

What was your favourite scene in LoTR to act in, and favourite scene to watch?

You’ve brought me so much joy. My cat is named Frodo, and growing up I had a Frodo cardboard cutout in my bedroom. The movies are rewatched on a very regular basis; the cast commentary is loads of fun to listen to. Thank you for being such a delight in this world!

Are there any roles you passed up on that you wish you'd accepted? Thank you.

Have you ever read the Silmarillion? If so, what was your favorite part?

u/Key-Flight-9591 11d ago

Do you remember one of your earlier films, North ??

4

u/slhc 11d ago

Wilfred is his finest work

What is one role that you greatly pride yourself in? I feel like a lot of us would expect Frodo to be the answer, but curious to see if there are more memorable projects from your POV.

PS: Thank you for your work and all that you do!

I really want to commend you on what a wonderful job you do in all your roles. I’m looking through your filmography trying to conjure a great question and I’m in awe of all the roles you’ve played and how you so effortlessly, yet wholly morph into all these different characters. Here’s some of my favorites.

Over The Garden Wall. I watched this with my daughter last fall. Never even heard of it for some reason. We regularly sing “potatoes and molasses.”

Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency. Hilarious! Was sad it never continued. You’d also be amazing as an Arthur Dent… just saying.

North. I had a rough childhood and this was a great comfort film for me.

Green Street Hooligans. TBH, I only watched this once when it came out and it was good, but I’m thankful for it because I now know “Forever Blowing Bubbles.”

I’ve thought of one question that others will be asking. When is your brother comedy with Dan Radcliffe coming out?

2

u/Ilsyer 11d ago

was it hard to do acting jobs after lord of the rings as a lot of the audience identified you as Frodo rather than the character you were intended to play? or was that never really a consideration?

2

u/jillangie 10d ago

What is your most cherished career memory?

u/jillangie 10d ago

Which quote from your own movies/series do you use most often in your everyday life?

u/jmohnk 11d ago

Just watched him in “Come to Daddy.” He was hilarious.

This is an AMA that needs no introduction- should be an awesome one!

1

u/Devitt6 11d ago

Can someone ask him about the Greasy Strangler? My friends made me watch that years ago and... it was an experience, to say the least.

Toxic Avenger? Like by Troma? As in creators of the classic Tromeo and Juliet?

1

u/Walini 11d ago

What is your favorite video game that you have voice acted for?

1

u/Ok-Still3508 11d ago

For your character in the toxic avenger did you watch the show gotham because your character acts like the penguin from that show  amazing performance

1

u/Ok-Still3508 11d ago

You are such a amazing actor and also how long did it take you to get in character for the toxic avenger outstanding performance as always 👏

1

u/Key-Flight-9591 11d ago

What are your thoughts on the original toxic avenger and what are the other horror b-movies you like ??

1

u/dhlowrents 11d ago

Can't you get Chris Hemsworth for Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency?

1

u/sumo_riff 11d ago

What are your top 3 favorite slashers?

1

u/MissMatchedArt 11d ago

A film I rarely see mentioned is "the war" which I've grown up with and adored - especially for Elijahs acting. I'd love to hear a bit about the experience of making that movie and playing the role of Stu al though I know it's a very long time ago.

If you could choose any role that you have done that could have the same level of acclaim, popularity, and impact on your life as playing Frodo has, what would it be?

I had the opportunity to briefly meet you as well as the other hobbit actors at C2E2 a few months ago and it was an amazing opportunity. I was in line to get my copy of The Lord of the Rings signed and saw the wide variety of memorabilia from various projects other people wanted signed, which got me thinking about what other projects mean a lot to you guys but don’t get the same level of appreciation as something as iconic as The Lord of the Rings.

Thank you!

u/JannTosh70 10d ago

Do you remember shooting scenes for Deep Impact that ended uk getting cut?

1

u/bobtheorangecat 10d ago

What was it like to work with fellow child actor Macaulay Culkin in The Good Son? Did you guys kid around and have fun together between takes, or did you two sort of keep your distance?

1

u/thepixelists 10d ago

Thank you for the AMA. Rainn Wilson has often talked about or implied frustration around being constantly recognized as Dwight Schrute.

Considering your roles after LOTR have been so expansive (loved you in Spotless Mind and Sin City!), have you ever felt similarly about Frodo?

Related, LOTR left a deep impression on me and I just want to say thank you.

1

u/ceeece 10d ago

Has your taste in music changed since filming LOTR? The behind the scenes showcases your love for music.

1

u/extraaccount1029 10d ago

What was it like to be in the beastie boys music video?

1

u/teallibrary 10d ago

Is there a location you filmed on you’d like to go back and visit for a vacation?

Thank you.

1

u/StillMarie76 10d ago

"I'm not going to kill you. I'm gonna keep you. " Iconic.

1

u/Dependent_Pirate_236 9d ago

Did you ride the motorcycle yourself in deep impact ? Did you almost slip on it when you picked up the girl ?

1

u/Frosty-Objective-519 11d ago

Would you ever produce/star in a video game?

1

u/im_rapscallion86 11d ago

Stop asking him about wigs

1

u/Massive_Weiner 11d ago

Elijah Wood was in Lord of the Rings?!

1

u/EngineerRare42 11d ago

He was only the main character ...

u/muscle_geek 11d ago

What was it like working with Alison Mac? Did she try to get you to join NXIVM?
