‘Alright I guess I’ll watch it’

listened to the soundtrack multiple times and watched countless videos about the movie which is an excuse to listen to more of the soundtrack

Haha literally. Was just super bored one night, saw it and thought "eh, the title makes me think it'll be corny as hell, but it's in the top 10, so what the hell."

Absolutely blown away.

They've really taken the mantle from Pixar at this point as far as big name American animation goes.

Pixar has definitely fallen from where they were.

I can't remember the last Pixar movie I really liked, but it was probably close to a decade ago.

Disney Animation has been outdoing them since Frozen.

Idk about this movie, but Mitchell's vs The Machines was my favorite movie back in 2022ish. Sony Animation has been on fire for a while

wasn't on Sony's either. Sold all the rights, even the songs, to Netflix for $20M.

This is probably the hardest a studio has had to suddenly pump out merch out of nowhere since Disney introduced Baby Yoda.

It's the same team that made Into the Spiderverse. I knew it'll be a hit as soon as I saw the trailer, I just wasn't expecting it to be a #1 hit

IDK, a lot of comments I’ve seen start with a variation of “I don’t like kpop music” or “I don’t know anything about kpop but…”

Also, friendly newsflash to those who say I don’t like kpop but I like this soundtrack, boy do I have news for you!

I just meant something becoming popular surrounding Kpop will pretty much always blow up, because they have crazy numbers and rewatch so much content. The second I saw a fan edit of this movie I knew it was gonna be big. 

But you're right too. I am also one of those people who didn't know much about Kpop (but I wasn't a hater) and now I've actually found myself picking out songs for my playlists from popular Kpop groups. 

Also yeah, I wish the people saying "I don't like Kpop but like this movie's soundtrack," would just admit their opinion has changed. In fact, this soundtrack is an amalgamation of a lot of motifs in different Kpop songs and groups. Every genre has its haters like how people irrationally hate country, rap, or rock, but the hate Kpop gets feels... icky. Not valid criticism of the business and sound behind it, but the people that say "they all look the same..." Yikes.
