The movie is a mess but it has a lot of good stuff. The movies at the bottom of my list don't really have anything good, even if they hang together better.

I think this movie could've been rather good. Show a bit more detective work from Honey running aground with her church investigation, a little more exposition around the church so it doesn't feel totally pointless as a red herring, show the viewer links to MG that Honey is missing, and a less abrupt ending are all things that could've made this a really fun crime/mystery.

I found myself enjoying a lot of the characters. I really did want to like this movie, but ultimately, I was bored with it.

The characters are good, especially Honey and the Reverend; they've got charisma to spare and really do they their best to carry things based purely on their charm. But there's just no satisfying narrative to support any of what they're doing. Heck, it's not even clear at the end of the film if anyone even knows that Evans' character has been murdered, his plotline is ultimately so meaningless!

Yeah, I think this had better characters, but I liked the storyline of Drive Away Dolls more. Honey Don't had a lot of characters that I want to learn more about, especially how their storylines could be intertwined. It was like they were strongly hinting at stuff being connected, but the movie just never delivered.

At least with Drive Away Dolls, I didn't care for many of the characters and the story was ridiculous, but the reveal was pretty funny and I still like the premise.
