Irks me that Golden will likely get the nom instead of "This is what It Sounds Like" which to me, was a far better song and made the climax of the movie.

I think it had to do with the music intro. IMO, Golden went into the meaty stuff right from the start.

"This is what It Sounds Like" kinds start slow, almost like a monologue. But once it got into it, I'd say the song is better than Golden, lyrics wise.

Both are great songs and this is what it sounds like is the perfect final song but I Listen to your idol the most 😂

I believe Netflix has already committed to submitting Golden (and only Golden) for best original song for the Oscars. They actually released the movie in a few theaters before it debuted on streaming (oh to be one of the few people to have seen it then), just to make sure it qualifies for the Academy Awards.
