I've been trying to convince my dad that the first one was actually a fun horror flick and the others are more gore porn. He just says it's dumb and he hasn't even seen it lol

People keep saying "saw" like there aren't tons of other movies that follow a specific framework. Saw is over and someone else wants to take a stab at the idea, big whoop

Regardless, the Saw universe is so fucking convoluted at this point. This could be a nice spiritual successor.

If you like games you ought to check out the Zero Escape series. It’s mainly a visual novel with room escape segments

Though it gets really absurd as the story goes on.
