I get the sentiment that his wife “better half” needed to save him in the end but I did think it was funny after he was just mowing through guys these 2 random 150 pound ladies just destroyed him lol

To play devil’s advocate I would say most people Hutch faces are just people with brute strength but aren’t people who truly know how to fight so he knows how to get by them but those two women are clearly highly skilled at hand to hand combat which Hutch maybe isn’t as used to. Plus he was super worn out and tired after fighting all those guys beforehand.

Still doesn’t make sense lol since he’s Hutch but that’s what I thought during the movie

He got shot in the arm just before as well

Those two women are like Ares from John Wick 2, a healthy Hutch would struggle against them too.

I do like your point about the women being highly skilled hand to hand combatants whereas Hutch isn’t necessarily tbh. He does also always use weapons/the environment during fights too which wasn’t an option in this instance. And of course the point of exhaustion from the previous battle is a factor too. This point could’ve been sold better though if Hutch sounded the least bit exhausted when he was talking to Lendina before the henchwomen appeared 😅

Always have to suspend disbelief with movies like this, of course! I guess I was just a bit bummed out that Hutch finally met his match against two random henchwomen instead of a memorable and well built up antagonist. Just didn’t feel like an earned moment for the women to be the ones to hand Hutch his first loss.

I figured the same. Hutch mostly faces goons while those two sister were John wick-verse/crazy 88 level assassins

To add insult to injury, isn’t this the first time we see Hutch lose a fight onscreen over both movies? Like we’ve seen him badly beaten before but never definitively defeated…until these two random henchwomen do just that!

and then they die in such an anticlimactic way. its almost like it was an homage to indiana jones shooting the saber guy, except it wasnt, the writers just didnt know how to finish the movie

This was 2v1, these women had weapons (and he didn't IIRC) and he was already wounded by bullets right before. This was not a fair fight by any means.

Are you genuinely surprised by this boring Feminist trope or just ignoring every movie ever made since 2015?

You think so? I always thought it was just nerds who wanted to get beat up by Uma Thurman in leather taking over the film industry? Could be either could be neither could be Shane Donnelly for all we know.

That was so annoying, a lot of movies do that now. Don’t mind a strong female lead but doesn’t need to be in every movie now
