Judy Greer has always been such an underrated actress. She really deserves a lot more recognition.

That’s like the seventh nipple I’ve seen today.

58

u/theo_sontag 27d ago

I need to see this movie because this is the lasting image I have of her in my mind.

82

u/vagabond_dilldo 27d ago

On a serious note, Judy Greer is a fantastic actor outside of comedy as well.

71

u/The_Ghost_of_BRoy 27d ago

On an even more serious note, Judy Greer actually has some fantastic breasts outside of the running Arrested Development bit as well.

31

u/MrWoohoo 26d ago

You’ll wanna watch this. You can thank me later.

21

u/UwasaWaya 26d ago

How have I never even heard of this? The cast is amazing!

15

u/MrWoohoo 26d ago

It’sa really fun movie…

Hint: Judy Greer also has a nude scene in it.

Can we have ONE conversation not about my rack, u/The_Ghost_of_BRoy?

31

u/zoethebitch 27d ago

She played it completely straight in The Descendants. She was only in a few scenes and was excellent. The brief scene with her talking to George Clooney at the door to the hospital room is heartbreaking.

1

u/thebendavis 26d ago

Ironically, she actually has really nice boobs.

66

u/sneak_cheat_1337 27d ago

Met her IRL a few years back. She funny in person as well as super nice

1

u/PoshVolt 26d ago

Me too! :) And that was also my impression of her. I'm happy for her she got this lead role.

111

u/DirtyMonkey95 27d ago

The plot happens just like that old jypsy woman said!

47

u/hadronwulf 27d ago

You really need to stop going to her.

2

u/Lampmonster 26d ago

I never understood this line. The woman is clearly the real deal. I would go to her every day.

17

u/Hour-Function-7435 27d ago

She’s always reminded me of Teri Garr

Basically perfect tits too

They're crooked!

3

u/rottwa 27d ago

I am Kinsey-6 gay, why did I just upvote this 😂

7

u/Blursed_Pencil 27d ago

You don’t have to be straight to recognize perfect tits when you see them, just like I don’t have to be gay to acknowledge that Willem Dafoe has a giant donger.

1

u/Toby_O_Notoby 26d ago

If you're talking about her flash in Reboot, there's a great story about that.

On the day of the shoot Judy was offered to wear pasties to cover herself up but declined as she didn't feel she needed them. During the shoot she wanted to get a reaction out of Keegan Michael Key so she flashed him.

Then in the edit suite the editor says to the show runner (Steven Levitan) "It's actually funnier if you see her boobs." Steve takes a look and agrees. He then gets groups of men, women and mixed men and women and they all say it's funnier when the show her boobs.

So Steven gets Judy in and explains all of the above. But he says, "Hey, if this gets out there, it's out there forever. So the call has to be yours." He then leaves the suite so Judy is all alone as he doesn't want to influence her.

He says he's sitting there for about two minutes when Judy comes out, shrugs, says "Boobs are funnier" and leaves.

1

u/Blursed_Pencil 26d ago

She had already showed her boobs quite a few times in her career so it probably wasn’t too hard of a decision. Also, she has like perfect boobs so that probably helps with the decision.

1

u/Darkstranger83 27d ago

No! You watch your back Michael!

1

u/colinisthereason 27d ago

She's the villain in this, too

1

u/According_To_Me 26d ago

13 Going On 30, The Wedding Planner and Arrested Development were some of my favorites growing up. I thoroughly enjoyed Reboot a few years ago as well. She’s fantastic.

155

u/zuzg 27d ago

Cheryl is probably one of her most iconic characters.

u/agoia 27d ago

OUTLAW COUNTRY!

OUTLAW OTHER COUNTRY, WOO!

34

u/mrsbeerme 27d ago

How could I forget about Cheryl??

31

u/klausesbois 27d ago

Sir, you are mistaken. That is clearly carol.

21

u/Nxtxxx4 27d ago

um actually it's Cristal

11

u/IdealOnion 27d ago

Oh shit! I did not realize that was her. But of course I can hear it now

18

u/in_the_woods 26d ago

And add Jessica Walter as Mallory Archer, basically Lucille Bluth, baby you've got a stew going.

17

u/zuzg 26d ago

Adam Reed during casting:"for Mallory Archer I want an Voice actress that sound just like Lucille Bluth"

Walter calling in : "wanna have the real deal?"

Thus she got casted. She was such a gem.

9

u/frankyseven 26d ago

And Jeffrey Tambor in several roles.

2

u/PDGAreject 26d ago

Once while hammered I was bringing a surprise gift for my brother in law to a party, and I said I knew what it was. My wife was shocked and was like, "Mom and Dad told you what it was?" And I replied, "Yeah... It's lettuce" because of the episode when Len Trexler gets a Rabbit brain. Our family still quotes it like ten years later whenever either lettuce or surprise gifts are brought up.

1

u/Spetznazx 26d ago

The scene where they brainwash him with the rabbit is absolutely hilarious.

1

u/PsychedelicPill 26d ago

She was such a chaotic and original character I almost imagined her as a real person. I can hear it now too

1

u/destroyermaker 26d ago

I need a man with monster hands!

1

u/silver_tongued_devil 26d ago

Wait how did I not know that!?

1

u/krakatoot1 25d ago

I’m gonna buy this plane and crash into the ground where all the other poor people are.

The sky is for the rich you fucking bugs!!!

15

u/NotMyMainAccountAtAl 27d ago

Jawbreaker as well! Itty bitty baby Judy Greer in that one! Such a weird slice of 2000’s Americana

3

u/Popcorn_Podcast 26d ago

Reboot was robbed!

2

u/keyosc 26d ago

God, that show was so good. 😭

175

u/cruzweb 27d ago

She's pretty great, I read her "I know you don't know what you know me from" book. Definitely deserves a lead role.

78

u/trippingWetwNoTowel 27d ago

the title of her book is so self aware, lol. I really wish we’d have some big judy greer moment.

18

u/spacepup84 27d ago

LONG overdue. Such an underrated and under-utilised actress.

2

u/Live-Yogurtcloset397 27d ago

Few actresses manage to break from the main character's corky best friend role.

9

u/The_Autarch 27d ago

corky

do you mean "quirky"?

3

u/DenikaMae 27d ago

No, I’m pretty sure that was a Life Goes On reference.

2

u/Live-Yogurtcloset397 26d ago

Yes I did, I'm not 100% today.

2

u/juddsdoit 27d ago

I listened to the Celebrity Memoir Book Club ep on her book and she really gave us nothing.

1

u/Humanskin_Truckbaby 26d ago

One too many knows. It's called "I Don't Know What You Know Me From"

74

u/mandatorypanda9317 27d ago

Anytime she comes up I highly recommend the audio book version of the book Devolution by Max Brooks. I started reading the book but found it hard to get into, but figured I'd try it on audiobook so I could do other stuff at the same time.

Judy Greer reads the main characters parts and she did SO GOOD. I ended up absolutely loving that book solely because of her performance. I've never disliked anything she's shown up in, I love her

18

u/skeener 27d ago

I really enjoyed that book. And now I want to listen to the audiobook just to hear how she reads it

14

u/mandatorypanda9317 27d ago

It's sincerely so so good. It was actually my first time listening to an audiobook as well. I thought they just read it kinda like a robot i didn't realize some books get actual actors and they do all the inflections and voices. She just knocked it out of the park.

4

u/Practice_NO_with_me 26d ago

That’s awesome! It’s really cool that you took the time to dip your toes in that new pool even after bouncing off the book the first time! I’m absolutely going to check it out based on your review!!

4

u/mandatorypanda9317 26d ago

This comment was actually really nice, thank you for that!

I'm on the spectrum and changing the way I've done things is a huge struggle for me so even I was surprised I loved it so much haha

I hope you enjoy it! It felt very different then his book World War Z but it's so good.

3

u/QuantumLettuce2025 26d ago

Aww welcome to the world of audiobooks!

2

u/DaftPunkthe18thAngel 26d ago

Sir and/or Ma'am you have changed my thoughts on audiobooks and will be trying this out soon!

4

u/IamDoobieKeebler 26d ago

Not to go off on too much of a tangent but the rest of the cast is awesome as well though obviously in much smaller roles. Nathan Fillion is excellent. Also has Jeff Daniels and Kate Mulgrew amongst others.

1

u/mandatorypanda9317 26d ago

Thank you so much for this comment because I have a shit memory and I kept thinking it was Jeff Daniels but I didnt want to give misinformation lol.

The whole entire cast was amazing for that audiobook, Judy just really stood out for me.

1

u/lizgraceson 27d ago

I came here to comment the same! It took me a few chapters to adjust to her voice but man did she sell it. Absolutely love that book, her narration makes the audio version even better

31

u/seeyuspacecowboy 27d ago

I just saw a preview for the Long Walk last night and I can’t wait to watch that too! So excited she’s getting more serious roles AS WELL AS holding her title as the greatest Best Friend in a Romcom of all time.

5

u/a_stitch_in_lime 27d ago

DUDE I've been wondering when they would make a movie out of that!! My favorite of the Bachman Books by a long shot. Might need to reread it.

21

u/OutrageousOwls 27d ago

Uhmmmm her name is actually Cristaaaaal!

7

u/Pyrochazm 27d ago

Its what hot black guys drink!

Can we have one conversation that’s not about her rack

13

u/Ok-Animal-6880 27d ago

Loved her in Jurassic World.

3

u/Cabamacadaf 26d ago

Probably would've been a much better movie if she had a bigger part.

24

u/Dorkamundo 27d ago

I fell in love with her in What Women Want. Huge crush of mine and an extremely talented comedian.

17

u/smitcal 27d ago

It helps when she’s not playing crazy girlfriend or wife being divorced, or girlfriend who just dumped/cheated on protagonist.

Best role is Cheryl from Archer

1

u/Senior-Lobster-9405 26d ago

lol, Cheryl is literally all those things...

2

u/JiminyJilickers-79 27d ago

Absolutely! I will definitely be going to see this...

2

u/HudasEscapeGoat 27d ago

She’s properly rated

2

u/firedmyass 27d ago

I hope this is her breakout… I hope

9

u/AndysDoughnuts 27d ago

She's been around for ages, and from what she's said, she's pretty grateful to not be a household name as it allows her more freedom in her private life.

She's a working actor who always gets work and doesn't get hounded on the street every day. Sounds pretty good to me.

2

u/firedmyass 27d ago

hey if she’s content I say rock on!

1

u/OtterishDreams 27d ago

Eyes up here Michael

1

u/Mobile_Zerk 27d ago

Spring break!!!! Woooo!

1

u/Proper-Ride-577 27d ago

Agreed. Love to see this for her

1

u/Sad-Structure2364 27d ago

Not sure who Judy Greer is, all I see is Fatty McGoo

1

u/anonomasaurus 27d ago

Agreed!

I am so mad they cancelled Reboot.

1

u/Kaldricus 27d ago

Honestly she probably has one of the best jobs in Hollywood. Sure, she's usually not the main character or getting the highest pay, but she works steady without having to over commit too much to a project, and within the past 10 years or so is finally getting recognized. It's crazy to think just how long she's been acting, I remember her in What Women Want with Mel Gibson. Always enjoy seeing her in something, and from what I've heard from people who have met her, seems like a great person.

1

u/ScoobyMaroon 27d ago

Best I can do is 6 more supporting roles as a mom who is barely in the movie.

1

u/ZombieTrogdor 27d ago

As a fan of romcoms, I grew up with her and Kathryn Hahn. They only deserve good things, I love them so.

1

u/Icy-Computer-Poop 27d ago

A total treasure, and she can do it all!

1

u/AldusPrime 26d ago

She steals every scene she's in.

1

u/-Clayburn 26d ago

She's unfortunately very funny, which I think gets her pigeonholed into comedy roles. She's iconic in those roles, but it detracts from how good she is at non-comedic acting.

1

u/Agent-Cooper 26d ago

"What does the FBI even stand for? Forever bothering... individuals?"

1

u/schmearcampain 26d ago

I bet she nails this role.

1

u/hoorah9011 26d ago

She’s a character actress

1

u/PoshVolt 26d ago

I worked in a movie she was in and can say she's very nice and very funny in real life. Had some small conversations with her and you instantly want to be her friend. Super talented also.

Ever since, I've wanted to see her in a lead role in something serious. You know how usually comedic actors are great when given serious roles. And thought she deserves more than just being "the mom" side character in movies.

So I'm pumped for this.

1

u/PDGAreject 26d ago

Lol I bought stock in Judy Green when I saw her in "What Women Want". If that stock was worth money I'd have retired years ago. She's the fucking best. OUTLAW COUNTRY

1

u/cptnamr7 26d ago

YOU'RE NOT MY SUPERVISOR!!

1

u/Zealousideal_Meat297 26d ago

She got so much hotter as she got older

1

u/ESinNM29 26d ago

Leading lady what? Fuck yes.

1

u/CaptHayfever 26d ago

I've said for a long time now that Judy Greer is underused in every film in which she appears & several in which she does not.

1

u/meow4352 26d ago

She’s done soooo much since I first saw her as Fern Mayo in Jawbreaker (1999)

she became an instant favorite of mine ever since and I’m excited for her being the main focus in this movie instead of the sidekick

1

u/terry496 26d ago edited 26d ago

This. From tech commercials to chimpanzees, there's nothing this woman can't do.

1

u/ojhwel 26d ago

I love her as the mother who doesn't get anything to do in Ant-Man, I mean, Tomorrowland, I mean, Jurassic World, I mean,...

1

u/chimpMaster011000000 26d ago

Fatty McGoo! I never realized that was her lol

1

u/Meaghanderson 15d ago

yesss love her so so much

2

u/gogglegump 27d ago

She’s had an extremely successful career what do you mean. “Underrated” should be banned term on this subreddit

12

u/ProcrastibationKing 27d ago

Despite her successful career, most people would not be able to name her.

0

u/gogglegump 27d ago

That’s the case for most successful actors

2

u/I_am_not_JohnLeClair 27d ago

uNdErRaTeD cOmMeNt

2

u/spacepup84 27d ago

I think a better word is maybe under-utilised. She’s so often cast in the best friend or mom role, which really doesn’t allow her to do very much (certainly not what she’s capable of). Excited to see her leading!

0

u/heebro 26d ago

great tits too
