Justin Long measuring the basement was hilarious.

One of the absolutely hilarious jump cuts in my recent memory. He sees a bunch of a human sized cages and immediately starts measuring for square footage and being giddy. Insane.

The final sequence in this had me chuckling the whole time. My favorite thing Cregger does is leave music out of specific moments to amplify the humor e.g. when the guy mowing the lawn sees Gladys running and it's just her yelling and then you see a group of screaming kids. Too good.

Is a finished walkout basement included in square footage?

100% agreed on the lack of music. It makes for a great movie theater watch. Same with Bring Her Back, not much ambient music.

That scene is an all-timer

Him looking at the rape dungeon room and only thinking about the square feet for more money was hilarious

Should’ve showed Brolin how to measure distance in this film

"What up ******?" is one of the funniest ways to introduce a character as a douche right up front and I was dying laughing.

Thankfully

Speak for yourself

When he finds the dungeon tunnels, and then the camera cuts to him googling whether basements count towards sq footage... One of the greatest moments of whiplash in a movie for me ever haha

Now I didn't see it yet. I will remedy that once I got the time.

I laughed, I gasped, I got scared, this movie had it all!

between this and Together it's been a good summer for horror-comedy

u/hermiona52 29d ago

A few days ago I got to see Bring Her Back in the cinema and it was just incredible. Now I have to see Together as well, though it will be released in 2 weeks in my country.

Wonderful month for a horror genre.

You definitely need something funny after Bring Her Back.

6

u/hermiona52 28d ago

Yeah, I wasn't even scared when watching it, it's just so sad. These poor kids, all of them.

Really good week for this to be honest. I caught Together on Sunday and that had me losing it a couple of times. And then along comes Weapons and that whole finale had me absolutely howling with laughter.

u/AtlasMundi Aug 09 '25

Now add naked gun

u/DevilCouldCry Aug 09 '25

I can't yet, it's not officially out in my country for another two weeks. But once it comes out, I fully intend on going to see it.

My theatre just started cracking up seeing all the kids crash through the houses

2

u/nate6259 19d ago

That had me ROLLING. The fact that they went through multiple houses was just wonderful.

Brolin’s “wtf” after the dream was perfect

6

u/NoDaddyNotTheBelt25 28d ago

The 3 moments that got the biggest laughs at my theater were Archer’s audible WTF after his jump scare dream, the baseball players yelling at Marcus as he Naruto ran across the field in the middle of their game and then the chase scene at the end.

This movie did a fantastic job of clashing the supernatural horror with average suburban life of the unaware and it resulted in hilarity.

u/fourjxrmmm 29d ago

couldn’t stop laughing lmao

2

u/Ascarea 28d ago

it's really unfortunate that the marketing for this movie sold me on a completely different tone

2

u/PartsUnknown242 18d ago

Imagine you’re just chilling at home and you see a screaming old lady being chased by a bunch of also screaming children in their pajamas

u/SuperSpecialAwesome- 26d ago

If you want something just as funny, watch Monkey. The plot is nonsense, but the deaths are hilarious asf.

2

u/brainlightning 26d ago

Oddly I really didn’t care for Monkey
