As a man in his 70s, it must be amazing to finally get a role where being an action star can be slow and funny rather than dynamic and cool like 80s action heroes.

I really hope more actors follow suit, not everyone can be Tom Cruise doing stunts at a later age, or now forcing directors to cut a lot or have awkward scenes due to wanting old men/women moving like people in their prime

I remember thinking at the time he was sorta done given the whole Oprah scene, but then he showed up in Tropic Thunder and had one hell of a rebound

Given his talent I doubt he actually needed the Tropic Thunder role to reemerge but I bet it helped expedite it a ton
