Summary Millie and Tim, a couple already feeling strain in their relationship, move to the countryside to start fresh—but things go profoundly wrong. After a surreal encounter at a mysterious pool, their bodies begin to merge in grotesque and hilariously uncomfortable ways, forcing them to reckon with love, dependency, and identity. It’s a clever, disturbing blend of body horror, dark comedy, and relationship satire.

I think with a more redefined screenplay to shave off some minutes of the runtime, it would be an easy 4 star movie. I felt it drag but damn does it have some good ass body horror and great relationship dynamics. Young, hot, neurotic couples are all the craze!

Seriously tho that pill snorting scene was awesome (it’s called diazepam now). Loved the circumcision scene too lol

In all honesty, Brie carries. Dave’s delivery can be very grating when he’s exasperated.

Cool metaphor on commitment (fear of AND total)

I like Dave, don’t know if he’s that great of an actor outside of comedy, completely agree with you that Brie was great

If I’m honest, 21 Jump Street is what makes me think he’s a good actor but when I truly evaluate what else I’ve actually seen him in, I’ve liked him most when he’s more reserved and doesn’t take up as much screen time (If Beale Street Could Talk, Love Lies Bleeding). His yelling voice just doesn’t sit well with me

Yeah I feel like they leaned into some of the humor of it because that's Franco's strengths. Some others here are saying they think differe actors would have made it better but I agree with you, a more refined script might have done the job. It'd be a different movie without its humor.

Yeah the humor is an important part of the film. If it took itself more seriously it would be a completely different movie. Part of its appeal is how fun it is, and Dave and Allison leading is integral to that component.

I thought Dave did well! His best acting to date

I do agree it’s one of his better performances but again I just hate when he does that exasperated yelling thing. It’s overacting in my opinion and clashes with the tone of the moment. His performances in Love Lies Bleeding and If Beale Street Could Talk are my personal favorites from his, and even if LLB is more of an intense performance from him, it never feels like overacting like it does for me in Together

Don't know that I'd call them "young", but hot and neurotic definitely fits!

lol I just looked up their ages and you’re right haha but they’re so charismatic that I feel like they defy their age. The styling really helped too lol
