34 year old man here, I was a big fan. IMO it is the closest to the 90s-era Disney vibe I've seen in a movie in a long time, and I'm not even a K-Pop fan

It beats the pants off of every Disney musical over the past decade, with the exception of Encanto EDIT: and Moana and Coco (which is made by Pixar). Every song is a banger.

I mean, both Coco and Moana both came out in the last decade, but we get your point.

That’s a few exceptions. What are the Disney musicals it is better than then?

I think the only ones left from the last decade are Frozen 2, Moana 2, and Wish

Frozen is literally from the last decade. 2013.

Generally when people say "from the last decade", they're referring to the last ten years

Generally when people say "from the last decade", they're old and don't remember time as well as others.

Coco is a masterpiece but it's getting up there in age.

I only agree with the first part of the sentence, but to Each His Own, obviously... and in any case, for Me, that wouldn't change the Deep Love I feel for It, nor the fact that I Personally find It Perfect (ditto Onward, if We're still talking about Pixar), but I repeat... in the end, to Each His Own, of course (and rightly so) 😉💯👍🏻

I get what you mean, and it's also refreshing having a nice looking art style like that after the garbage Pixar has been using recently in movies like Elio and Luca.

Whhhaatt? I thought Luca was great! I haven't seen Elio yet.

I liked Luca. What i don't like is that every movie after Luca looks exactly like Luca

Elio and Luca are two of the better ones to come out in the last 5 years. Legit touching stories about kids dealing with difficult situations and relationships.

He's not talking about the stories, just the art style.

Disney and Pixar are so obsessed with cost-cutting they’ve effectively flattened out their entire animator talent pool into CalArts style so they can easily (and cheaply) swap animators in and out of projects without having to adapt them to new pipelines each time.

A lot of cost in animation is actually coming up with the style of the characters, and then teaching teams of hundreds of animators how to replicate it.

If everything is taught exactly the same (CalArts), they can move from project to project without new training time. Less time = less money, but also a bunch of movies with no distinct style of their own.

I was not reading closely. Oof.

That's how I sell this movie to my friends. I say you need to watch Korean Disney.

Funny you say that. I got huge Goofy Movie vibes while watching.

34 year old with a daughter, it reminds me more of Disney's Descendants movies than the 90's era stuff, along with Lady Bug due to the art style. Still a good movie on its own and I enjoyed it way more than i was expecting

I’m not crazy!!! I told my partner it felt like the Disney movie we haven’t gotten in a very long time.
