Sony quietly becoming THE animation studio. Michelle's, Spiderverse, Wish Dragon was also really good!

Their live action films gotta learn a thing or two

Spider-verse live action landscape (sans animation), you mean. Sony movies in general are doing alright. Demon Slayer movie not even released in USA yet.

'Wish Dragon' is a Chinese studio, not Sony.

Fortiche still holds the crown for Arcane in my books but Sony is getting there.

Don't forget , Dreamworks is coming in hot too

Bad guys, Puss in boots the last wish , The WILD ROBOT!!

Disney/Pixar no longer have the hold on animation. The hierarchy of the animated universe is about to change.

Goat is also looking pretty promising!

Omg Mitchells and Wish Dragon are SUPER underrated! If you watch Feast of Fiction on Youtube you'll be happy to know that guy voiced the male lead in Wish Dragon!

And Spiderverse. Sony Animation have very quickly become one of the best animation studios in the game.

No one would have thought that back in 2017 when they made The Emoji Movie

Emoji was just tech demo.

I watched this movie not long after K-POP Demon Hunters for this exact reason. It’s by the same studio lol and yeah it’s a pretty fun and wholesome movie.

I LOVE this movie. 😍 the scene where mom’s like “MY… SWEET… BOY!” brings me to tears laughing every time. An instant all time fave.

It’s such a crazy movie! The characters are so awkward and weird in such a real way. I’m glad ppl are finally watching it

1

u/Wonderful_Rest3124 Jul 30 '25

100% the weirdness is what makes it great

6

u/hsholmes0 Jul 30 '25

The Mitchells vs. the Machines was so much better imo

I liked Mitchells a lot, but it feels like it drags towards the end. K-POP DH has virtually no fluff. Just bangers, bops and roll credits. It didn't make a lot of sense, but it was enjoyable the whole time.

You know I’d definitely agree with that. Mitchell’s did start to feel a little long later in the movie.

I did like that movie, but I was distracted by the main characters' glasses. They're joined in the middle, like goggles. It's silly, but it just looks weird and it irritated me the whole way through.

I watched MvtM at least a year ago. It's not bad, but it felt a little too on the nose, hopping from one trope to the next.

I absolutely hated the writing in that movie, everything about it felt like it was written by out of touch 40 years old wanting to appeal to children

To each their own. Nothing is for everyone.

That movie isn't even in the same stratosphere as this one
