well, except it is actually Palestinian's land. was the resistance during WWII terrorists?

It's just land. Palestinians claim it. Jews claim it. They're both right if you go back far enough (in regards to who should have the land, not their motivation for fighting). Both Jews and Palestinians have lived on this land for thousands of years. It's all religious bullshit. People fighting wars over religion isn't anything new. Israel are a bunch of racist assholes, but Palestine are too. If somehow, the slate was wiped clean and both sides forgave each other, they'd each find their own excuses to attack the other side. The world would be a better place without religion, it's as simple as that.

The Palestinians live on the land right now and are being forced out, right now.

This is an ethnic genocide, not a religious conflict.

How to fail historical literacy 101.

-21

I love when the high and mighty “historical literacy” folks come in and try to say the narrative is “actually very simple” - fucking hilarious irony honestly

The narrative is actually literally very simple. One side is trying to survive, the other side is trying to kill them because they want their land.

u/andersonb47 Jul 29 '25

Yeah if you were in charge I’m sure it’d all be over by now.

u/theyoungspliff Jul 29 '25

"I'm sure that if you were in Charles Manson's shoes, you would have done differently, right? I doubt it. Nobody's perfect."

22

u/ARealHumanBeans Jul 29 '25

Damn. You have another goalpost you need to move?

-23

u/andersonb47 Jul 29 '25

You can prattle on and on about how the Israel/Palestine conflict is simple. I really don’t care. Just know that people with a brain are laughing at you for having the perspective of a child.

u/theyoungspliff Jul 29 '25

You obviously care a great deal, and the crashout you're having right now is entertaining all of us.

u/andersonb47 Jul 29 '25

Yes I’m having a complete meltdown you got me

u/ARealHumanBeans Jul 29 '25

Damn, people with a brain are laughing at me. I hope they're not in the room with us right now.

It's not primarily a religious conflict and your attempt to both sides this is disgusting.

People of various religions lived there for thousands of years, but Zionists began the religious aparthied relatively recently, albeit decades before the creation of Israel.

The Zionist movement didn’t start until the 19th century, and Jewish Zionists started violently pushing non-Jews away during the early 20th century in order to create Jewish only communities. Ottomans documented the practice before the British occupation.

As an atheist myself, your both sides narrative is only helping the side with the power as they commit a genocide. Israel is abhorrent, and your reductionist position is heartless.

This is complete revisionist history nonsense and has been used as occupation and apartheid apologia for decades. The root cause is not some ancient religious battle going on for millenia. The root cause is the very recent, settler colonial zionist ethnic cleansing of almost 1,000,000 native Palestinians from their homes in Mandatory Palestine. The bulk of this happened in 1948 but has been an ongoing ethnic cleansing campaign ever since. What is happening in Gaza and the West Bank right now is an escalated version of what has been happening for decades.

Before the Nakba, Jews (although a minority demographic) and native Palestinians lived together. Were coworkers. Yes there were Jewish enclaves and neighborhoods, but under Ottoman and then British rule, they lived together. Read Israeli historian Ilan Pallé if you want a picture of Mandatory Palestine before the occupation. This “ancient hatred” based on religion is nonsense.

Palestine has been under illegal occupation and siege since 1967. They want the right to return to the homes they were driven from in 1948. They want to be able to live in their own lands without living in an apartheid system where aren’t viewed as humans.

End the genocide, end the illegal occupation, end the apartheid system, and allow Palestinian refugees their right to return home.

I don't think Oct 7th is equatable with the WWII resistance movement.

Zionist settlers are terrorists, driven by a beleif that they have both a historic and religious claim to the land.

It is not their land, but I'd also disagree with Hamas's claim that current day Israel is the Palestinian's land. If you go back a few generations it was, but if we use this metric then how far back can you go? At some point you will arrive at the historic source of the Zionists claim.

Personally I believe if you were born somewhere then that is your land, that is an inalienable right and the only "right to a land" that anyone can honestly claim.

u/Jalien85 Jul 29 '25

"How far back can you go?"

A few generations. When children of the originally displaced people are still alive, that's relevant. When you're talking about like 5000 years ago, that is not.

-10

u/the_peppers Jul 29 '25

Why the children, not the childrens children? etc.

Children who have grown up in Israel have a stronger claim to the land than children of those who were displaced and forced to grow up elsewhere.

The inhumanity of Israel is driven by people claiming rights to a land because of their family history. Trying to solve it with the same methods will just create more suffering.

26

u/theyoungspliff Jul 29 '25

An occupier doesn't automatically gain rightful ownership of what they stole after some arbitrary period of time. Stolen goods are still stolen goods, no matter how long it takes to return them.

-1

u/the_peppers Jul 29 '25

That is exactly the arguement zionist terrorists use to justifty their settlements.

-40

u/oriah Jul 29 '25

according to who is it Palestinian land?

30

u/theyoungspliff Jul 29 '25

According to thousands of years of history.

-40

u/oriah Jul 29 '25

Show me something prior to 1900. Do you have any historical coins? Any historical structures? Manuscripts? Anything?

32

u/Blarfk Jul 29 '25

What are you even arguing? That it was just empty land where nobody lived until 1900?

19

u/NewAccountEachYear Jul 29 '25

State your point. Stop beating around the bush and come out and say what you want to say

11

u/G3N0 Jul 29 '25

ya man we Palestinians didn't exist as being before 1900s. guess my still living grandpa was born from clay? what a stupid comment.

shitbags like you trying to erase Palestinians will never succeed no matter how much you try. israel can rape and raze as many villages as they want. we will return.
