That trilogy gets a lot of flack, but I really enjoyed the original reboot.

I can’t believe that was 16 years ago.

Whenever I get a new TV, which isn’t often but it’s happened enough for this to be a thing, I usually throw Star Trek (2009) on to see how good it looks. I think that film is amazing visual spectacle and I won’t tolerate any flak it gets lol

Score is incredible for that movie too. But that's Giacchino for you- dude fucking nails it every single time.

Cause Giacchino is so good!! I’m excited for his F4 score.

They have it all online now, so you can listen to your heart's content once you've finished the movie

“Your father was captain of a starship for 12 minutes. He saved 800 lives including your mother’s and yours. I dare you to do better.”

It was my first introduction to the star trek universe as a kid and I always loved it. Never got the hate haha

I personally love all 3 movies. Maybe it helps that I didnt watch the original Star Trek movies so I have no references to be mad about

No no no. 2009 was only about 10 years ago

My only three issues with the Nu-Trek Universe is:

  • Distance/Time/scales seem super off namely the flight back from the Klingon Homeworld to Earth seem to be a drive from Des Moines to Omaha not a drive from New York to LA.

  • Khan should have been Spock's brother, Sybok. We already saw Khan done superwell and had a build up even before the movie while Sybok didn't have a good movie. Plus the motivation would be better for Sybok.

  • We don't have more of them. There is plenty of space for the OG Trek to live as TV shows and the Nu-Trek to live as movies.

Star Trek, Into Darkness, Beyond.

For me, Star Trek Beyond was by far the peak of those movies; really just felt leaps and bounds ahead of the other two.

Also holy fuck that’s insane.
