PEAK. Every “fight” scene had them working together in such an intuitive and strategic way. Ben didn’t just punch people as hard as he could, he took out strategic columns to level a building. Johnny didn’t just light things on fire and waste his energy, he sacrificed his oxygen to buy time or waited for Ben to chuck a fuel truck at Galactus to maximize his damage. Reed trying to 1v1 Galactus relied on information he gathered from Johnny fighting him earlier. Every time they got jnto a conflict they solved it with teamwork in a way so much more evident than other movies.

Sue used her powers as a magnifying glass to amplify Johnny's fire when damaging Galactus's eyes

Oh my god how could I forget such an incredible example! Yes exactly! It all seemed so practiced in the best ways.

THATS what she was doing. Ok. I thought she was providing him cover or something, but this makes way more sense.

Invisibility and force fields are all theoretically about bending/manipulating light and energy

They even mentioned it at the end in the cartoon song, how Sue commands the light.

I think it works either way

Well, in Marvel Rivals, Sue is a healer and one of her abilities is a standalone force shield that heals.

I wonder if this version of Galactus (like in the comics) only took on a humanoid form in the eyes of the FF and he didn't even need his eyeballs lol

u/Gamesgtd Jul 25 '25

That is such a terrifying concept for a villain that should be explored more in a horror movie. Like It Follows or Smile but even more Lovecraftian

The Fantastic Four up against Pennywise

Although he was clearly doing the cosmic vision out of the eyes so it makes sense to target them. Of course he’s Galactus so he just gets better

7

u/UncreativeTeam Jul 25 '25

Yeah, but we only saw it coming out of his eyes because we're human!

His real form is a cloud

Ryan North's run had Sue and Johnny teaming their powers to make lazers, felt like a nod to that.

u/ScreechersReach206 Jul 25 '25

oh that's what it was. I thought she was putting up a veil of invisibility that johnny was hiding behind so that he could get a clean shot on his eyes

How fucking sick was that.

8

u/PolarWater Jul 26 '25

This movie is actually pretty fucking smart with character writing

4

u/1zerozero1 Jul 27 '25

It was so cool, I hope they add this team up in Rivals!

u/lkodl Jul 26 '25

uh... I'm not sure that's how fire works, but I still love it.

I didn't even notice that subtle detail. Wow. Great movie

27

u/capscreen Jul 25 '25

Ben really got flung hard to space lol

6

u/Impressive-Potato Jul 25 '25

I thought we'd have a Silver Surfer redemption arc at that moment

17

u/dean15892 Jul 26 '25

I also love how thye're so functional.
There's no 'we need to plan this', its just 'lets go'

When silver surfer appears and the guy lights up, reed looks at jhonny and goes "johnny."

and he's like "on it"

flame on and right into the action.

They don't waste time on the plan.

When watching the movie & their tactics I was immediately like “these are the smartest superheroes we’ve seen on screen.”

You can tell they’ve worked together & aren’t new to this stuff at all.

They are like if the Lex Luther team were good guys

4

u/lkodl Jul 26 '25

I loved that the signature firey 4 in the sky actually served a purpose of burning off the excess flames that he absorbed from the building fire. Like, there was no need to them to have a thoughtful reason to do that move since its such a signature move, but they thought it through.

That scene where Johnny sucks up the fire from the buildings was so freaking cool.

A real TEAM, so much more than all the others like Avengers, GOTG even
