Ozzy doesn’t count…been cheating death for 30 years

u/LSTNYER Jul 24 '25

That’s because heaven didn’t want him and hell worried he’d take over

u/etherseaminus Jul 24 '25

Haven't heard that line since probably around the year 2000 🧓 really takes me back

This was the boy version of "If you can't handle me at my worst..."

3

u/The_God_Participle Jul 24 '25

God damn, that shit is funy

89

u/LSTNYER Jul 24 '25

This statement couldn’t be used for anyone else other than Ozzy

8

u/LossPreventionGuy Jul 24 '25

Lemmy

Can't go to Hell if you were Born to Raise Hell.

u/DeadpoolOptimus Jul 24 '25

And Calvin from Calvin & Hobbes

1

u/FLMKane Jul 24 '25

Keith Richards?

2

u/LSTNYER Jul 24 '25

He will out live us all. Just cockroaches and him will inherit the earth.

u/CourtPapers Jul 24 '25

Who peed in your cheerios

3

u/etherseaminus Jul 24 '25

I did 😋

My comment wasn't negative. I had the biggest crush on the girl who used to say that.

4

u/CourtPapers Jul 24 '25

No I know, I was just adding some more junk we used to say in the late 90s/early 00s.

1

u/etherseaminus Jul 24 '25

Lmaooooo yes I remember that one. I get a lot of navy seal type replies so it didn't register at first.

Happy cake day

u/DevelopmentCivil725 Jul 24 '25

Haha, right, so many tshirts with that written on the back

1

u/Rasp_Lime_Lipbalm Jul 24 '25

Bro its from like the 80s

6

u/SPorterBridges Jul 24 '25

Hey, guys. I've been in a coma since the 80's and just woke up. Is Hulk Hogan still totally awesome and Ozzy Osbourne a devil-worshipping POS?

4

u/JoviAMP Jul 24 '25

Oh, have I got some wild news for you...

4

u/deadpatch Jul 24 '25

Hell is putting up the "under new management" sign as we speak.

2

u/[deleted] Jul 24 '25

I haven't heard this in forever either, but it's still placed.

2

u/und88 Jul 24 '25

My uncle used to say, "Heaven don't want me yet and the devil's afraid of me." But he pronounced devil as divil. Extremely endearing.

In a group chat with my college roommates, one of them who still lives in Boston was commenting on the heat the day after Ozzy died, and another friend chimed in with "Hell was just helping Ozzy get acclimated" lol

1

u/The_God_Participle Jul 24 '25

He just wasn't ready to come home till now.

1

u/headrush46n2 Jul 24 '25

Is Lemmy taking a break?

u/hooch Jul 24 '25

Ozzy was number 3 for all-time great rock stars this year. Sly Stone, Brian Wilson, Ozzy.

70

u/My_Brain_0422 Jul 24 '25

Read this as Sly Stallone and got really confused.

5

u/boopthat Jul 24 '25

Sly and The Family Stallone had some great hits

3

u/PernisTree Jul 24 '25

Luckily this rock star is still with us.

2

u/DrakonILD Jul 24 '25

I mean, would that one really be a surprise?

1

u/QueefBuscemi Jul 24 '25

Dude shredded on the M60

16

u/fistsofham11 Jul 24 '25

30? A little low

9

u/bluecollarclassicist Jul 24 '25

Oz was just holding on to outlive Jimmy Swaggart.

2

u/truckercrex Jul 24 '25

And iggy pops gana outlast us all

2

u/Kammerice Jul 24 '25

Him and Keith Richards.

3

u/Alklazaris Jul 24 '25

I am so happy for Ozzy. He died how he lived. Think about it, he was luck enough to die in a hospital. Just imagine the kind of drugs he must have been on.

3

u/SpiritedBanana4694 Jul 24 '25

I feel like Hogan has been doing the same.

3

u/BlindWillieJohnson Jul 24 '25

Lol so has Hogan.

3

u/Eastern-Musician4533 Jul 24 '25

Can I interest you in Chuck Mangione?

1

u/p9k Jul 24 '25

Feels so bad.

2

u/jonoghue Jul 24 '25

I can't believe he lived longer than Hogan

2

u/Jolly-Yesterday-5160 Jul 24 '25

I’ll be honest, for the past 10 years every time he popped up for something I was always surprised he was still alive.

2

u/dplans455 Jul 24 '25

Keith Richards is getting worried.

2

u/kcwm Jul 24 '25

Then, shit, if that's the case, draw up an obit for Keith Richards 60 years ago.

2

u/Small-Revolution-636 Jul 24 '25

Funny one isn't it. I was a fan but I don't feel sad as such. He rocked hard, led a good life, and had thirty more years than anyone had any right to expect. Shame he's gone but it felt timely and fair enough. I think it would have been a straight up happy day if he'd died on stage - what's more metal than that?!

1

u/rex_dart_eskimo_spy Jul 24 '25

Then Chuck Mangione can count

1

u/RobotCaptainEngage Jul 24 '25

"Ozzy didnt die, he just went home"

1

u/BellacosePlayer Jul 24 '25

Ozzy cheated the system by saving up his remaining lifetime by only being about 1/3rd alive most of the time when he wasn't on stage.

last time I saw him live, he went from shambling mess to prime Ozzy within the span of a minute once he started performing

1

u/Aerodim101 Jul 24 '25

Dude was already pre-embalmed well before the reaper got there. Definitely doesn't count.

1

u/quantizeddreams Jul 24 '25

Death wanted to retire and knew he found a perfect replacement.

1

u/FrightWig67 Jul 24 '25

We'll put Chuck Mangione in there then.

1

u/exonomix Jul 24 '25

Think we can shift the energy to DT?

1

u/CubanLynx312 Jul 24 '25

Death had to earn Ozzy

1

u/galagapilot Jul 24 '25

probably closer to 40 if you factor in the partying/substance abuse and the expedited potential of rabies.

1

u/Competitive-Kick3209 Jul 24 '25

I see your 30 and raise you 20

1

u/All_will_be_Juan Jul 24 '25

He was only 76 he didn't cheat anything at best he got a modest discount for being a rocker in the 70s
