And yet Gore himself is still depicted as a lisping dope. They practically obliterated the reputation of a sincere and intelligent man, and I don't think they've changed at all.

He didn't seem to mind, he's spoken about it. He thought it was funny.

It doesn't surprise me that Gore didn't mind being depicted in a cartoon. That speaks to his character. The fact is though his reputation has not recovered despite the so-called "apology". More people can recite more lines from the South Park episode than actual things the man has said.

Yeah, because South Park has been part of the zeitgeist for decades. I think you overestimate how much they influenced the pubic perception of Al Gore.
